
P90X Day 47
Tom: Hello its friday once again!!! My breakfast was 2 whole wheat waffles, a glass of milk, and a coffie. My A.M. snack was a P90X protein bar. For lunch I had a pulled pork snadwich and a diet coke. Not on the guide, but its friday remember. My day at work was good I did a few more PDI’s and a few jobs just enough to keep busy. Other than that I’m glad to be out of there and home to my family. Tonight for dinner I had 2 slices of pizza and a salad with a glass of milk. My workout tonight was good I felt loose from last nights yoga. Really feel good today as far as my body goes. My neck is feeling wonderful I practice rolling my neck from time to time just to get in a relaxing stretch. Tonight it was all about me using my blue bands to the max. Since my food choices today were a little wackee I felt i need to pick it up a notch. I was doing 16 close grips a pop. My chair lunge was all in good form tonight I really kept my knee from going over my foot. Although my legs are getting to the point were I’m loosing the feeling of being sore as the end of the week rolls out. Tip toe lunges are improving also the strenght in your feet and legs that it takes to do these and keep a strong form is just getting better for me. Its Firday night and I have some Saranac Octoberfest waiting for me so have a great night.
Jen: Today was my first day of work. It was great, but a total info cram!!! Lots to remember!!! I even got assigned homework for the weekend. I have to do 5 chapters by Monday. You know what though, I am totally thrilled about it. Isn’t it strange how when we are children most of us depise doing homework and now as adults we jump at the chance to learn something new. So today was a busy day to say the least. I got home at about 3:30 and grabbed the kids form the neighbor’s. We came home and did the usual “straighten up the house grind” and preped for dinner. Wasn’t too bad stress wise. We ate dinner and chilled as a family until the kids went to bed. Then popped in the good ol P90X. Time for legs/back/ab ripper x. I am thinking about switching up to heavy bands for all my back exercises. I am still holding strong at my free weight levels, but I noticed my back work is starting to get too easy. My legs are really starting to show some definition after these few weeks. I am able to do as much if not more reps on the max reps stuff. Those sneaky lunges (the ones you do on your tippy toes) still crack me up! Sorry for the short blog tonight, but I have massive amounts of homework to do! So I will catch you all tomorrow!!!

Tom: Hello everyone today my breakfast from the P90X nutrition plan was a glass of milk and a whole wheat bagel with peanut butter. My A.M snack was a P90X protein bar. For lunch I had a bowl of chicken noddle soup with a glass of water My P.M. snack was a almond cruchy granola bar. For dinner I had Chicken, sweet potato, and spinach, and a glass of milk. My day at work went O.K. There must be something with these PT Cruiser’s I had to do a head gasket today on a 2004 2.4 cylinder DOHC. They stink I just did one a few weeks back I remeber talkig about one then. I;m almost done with it, I just have to tighen up a few loose ends. I need to hook up the ehaust, and the side lower engine mount to the frame. Also I need to charge back up the air conditioning cause you have to disconnect the hoses to get to the upper motor monut. My workout tonight went great I used my 25lbs dumb bells for all my excercises except the last one today. All my pull ups, chin ups and reverse pullups were done with my blue band. My lawnmowers and my elbow out lawnmowers were all 10 times at 25lbs!!! My open am curls are improving also I try to keep my body still and use my arms only without jerking my body around to get the cleanist form possible. My curl up hammer down today was 12 times 25 lbs. I did very well with those. My max pullups towards the end was 21 total thats a good number for me as far as I am concerned cause by the end of this I can barly put up those 25lbs dumb bells. My arms get very spongee during tonights workout but I do feel improvements while pumping up these reps to excercise ratios. BRING IT people BRING IT!!!! Supermans were fun I try to get myself other than my stomach area right up off the ground and hold for as long as I can while I breath. This is an excellent workout timing wise it’s just what you need to get in a very nice workout and really feel it after you are done. Abripper X was draining tonight but I held up and finished. I skipped climbing my legs but did 60 masion twists to do a few extra for skipping me leg climb.
Jen: Hello everyone. Hope all of you are doing good and working hard. It makes me so happy to know that we have inspired/encouraged some of you to start your own programs or what have you. It is great to have someone know what you are going through and can offer support. I love hearing from those of you who are in the X commuity as well. Your day 30 pics are showing awesome improvements. Keep up the hard work! I swear I am hitting that half way point of “do I really have another 45 days inme?” But I know I do. I start work here in just a few short days. That’ll be the real challenge! But anyways, tonight was back, biceps, and ab ripper. I am making some great progress here. I am still using the orange bands for my back exercises and switching between 8 and 10 lb free weights for biceps work. As I said before, the bands kinda get cumbersome during the workout. I am doing between 10-12 reps and definately feeling the burn. I really enjoy doing this workout because it’s one of the few where I feel like I can kick ass. No lagging for me on this one. I rock it out! Now granted I’m not using 25lb weights like Tommy, but I’m still bringing it in my own right. My form is improving on ab ripper. Still struggle with the oblique crunches, but the rest are really coming together. I was doing the typical girl thing last night and scoping out my progress before I got in the shower. My inner thighs used to be really loose and flabby, now there is a good chunck of muscle where that flab used to reside. HA! I LOVE IT! So I will see you all tomorrow for yoga. I’m loving that too! Jen: I am out for today everyone. I just got back from the doctors not too long ago. I have cut my eye…..as in my actual eyeball! Don’t ask me how. Let’s just say I am none for being a klutz. It was really weird how they looked for it too. They had to insert these strips into my eye and it dyed the cut orange. I guess it was pretty big according to them. Guess that’s why my vision is all fuzzy and my eye hurts like hell huh? So anywho, I am taking a “sick day” from the workouts. On another note though: Since we are about half way through the program I started thinking about where to go from here. Do I just do a round 2? Do I move up to P90X Plus? Well, with my limited vision I decided to take a look at the books included and checked out the different workouts (there are 3 choices in the style of workout you do). There is Classic, Doubles, and Lean. After checking things over and thinking about what my life will be like here in a few weeks (holidays, work, etc) I have decided that once I am done with this program I will be following the Lean program of P90X. All the same workouts are included at some time or another, just varied a little for a different look. A leaner more feminine look if you will. So with all that being said, I am going to go rest my eyes. If there are any typos please excuse them. I’m lucky i managed to squek out this much so coherently. Good night!
Tom: Hi everyone happy monday to you all I had oatmeal for breakfast with a glass of mlik and a coffie. My A.M snack was a P90X protein bar. My lunch was a apple suace cup, two slices of pizza with evrything on it and some water. My P.M snack was 6 whole wheat crackers and low fat cheese to make my sandwich cracker snacks!!!. My day at work was not worth mentioning cause it sucked horribly so I’m not going to even waste my time telling you about it cause it sucks and thats all you need to know about that. My excercise onw the other hand was fantastic. Warm up went smmoth until the arm circles then my arms feel like jello wigglers…. I did excellent today let me tell you all about it. I did the bonus for 3 in 1 slow motion pushups. Plange pushups I added 3 more for last week. My scarecrows I topped off added 3 more to those. I did 2 extra 1 handed pushups. 4 more Y press at 25 lbs. Lying tricep extensions4 more at 25lbs. 4 more side to side pushups . 2 more pours at 10 lbs. 10 lbs for the pours is plenty any more weight and its not worth it as far a form goes your arms will just fall out and they need to be held out straight. Side leaning tricep extensions at 25lbs at 10 each was 2 more than last weeks. I modifyed the next set of 1 handed pushups to my knees but did 10, 2 more than last weeks. Weighted arm circles, AGAIN arms are getting jellooeeeeee at 10 lbs + I took a small break for this excercise. I blew out 8 more clap pushups than last weeks that is a max rep excercise I not getting off the groung with my feet, but I,m launching up into my clap. Front to back tricep extensions were holding strong at 25 lbs adding 2 more from last week. 5 more 1 handed balanced pushups really pushing up my midsection on the hold with the arm raised nice and tall. Dumbbell cross body blows a nice whopping 30 times each at 25 lbs. last weeks was only 25 total. so there you have it folks I;m blowing out the walls here and getting it done XXXXXXXXXXX style.!!!!!!!******!!!!!!!!!!!!! All these extras are based out of last weeks so cause I am wrting it down I know my improvements and weight reps. Im focused and ready to climb to the top of the X. Abripper was good I had no more energy to do anymore weighted excercises so it was nice to change into the Ab ripper. My legs don’t seem to want to get straight during the heels. My knees still have a bend to them. I feel my ab’s ripping after about 3 to 4 minutes into ab ripper. Its making me feel like I am working hard when in the 15 minutes you are doing this you can start to feel it just minutes into the excercise. I have been doing nicely. V rollups for me are gettin gto be real easy for my my form is great during this compared to my first month.

Jen: It’s Sunday. I know this should be our rest day, but we used Wednesday as our rest day so we’re bringing it today. We woke up early and got some stuff done around the house and then went to church. We are not avid church goers by ANY means (like 4 times a year maybe), but it’s something I think me and the kids would like to get into a little more. Enough said on that topic, mother always said don’t discuss religion, politics, and something else (???) with others LOL. After church we came home and ate some lunch. Had leftovers from the night before, which was the itlaian meatloaf out of the nutrition guide. Let me set things striaght now……my family HATES meatloaf with a passion!!!! But ever since starting this program we promised ourselves to at least try everything. People my family wolfed this stuff down like they had just come off a 3 week fast. Even my kids were asking for seconds. They said it tasted like a giant meatball. Now I don’t know what Tony did to his meatloaf that made it soooo much better than my recipe (sniff sniff, jealousy rears its ugly head), but they loved it. So once our lunches settled we got to work. I am still at the heavier weight settings from last week (orange bands and 10 lb free weights). I am definately feeling it. I get out about 10 reps if I’m lucky and my muscles are all wobbly afterwards. I think this one is my favorite routine out of the “strength training” regimes. Not so high impact and bouncing all over but you still work up a good sweat and feel like you’ve accomplised something afterwards. I am paying careful attention to my body placement while using the bands for the back work. Since our doorways aren’t sound enough for a pull up bar we used bands. It is VERY important that you get the right angle. Otherwise the exercise is pointless. You will feel it right in the shoulder blade area when you are doing it right. Well, that’s enough for me. Tom: Sunday morning is so fun I like sunday’s don’t you?? I woke up and had 2 whole wheat waffles a galss of orange juice and a coffie. After that I touched up on a few loose ends in the house and did some house chores. I also went to church this morning my son likes it cause they head into the classroom and do arts and crafts. Plus they had coffie cake muffins!! For me this workout was wednesdays workout but I took that as my day off this week. So it pushed it back to sunday for me. My lunch was meatloaf I never used to like meatloaf before. Since I have been following the guide and this program I have opened up my horizon on eating differnt things for a change. After lunch I did workout. I am using my 25 lbs dumbells again so I’m maxing out at 8 to 10 a pop. I am using my blue band with my door attachment. My back is still improving for me over these nice P90X workouts. I hardly ever wake up with backpain anymore. Only if I sleep wrong but after I’m up and I move around and do a minute or 2 or blastic and static stretches. I feel better. I am happy with my Bicpes from these excercises the way my arms feel after this is just WWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWW a real change for a real person working out and having good form, your not going to get results if you are going to just sit there and drink beer. Oyeah I had a couple Sam Adams Octoberfests today. Thats right the seasonal brew is back and just in time!!!! that was my recovery drink . So take that I still did my P90X and had a couple LOL OK BUFFALO BILLS are coming on soon so I have to go get ready for game time ENJOY see you

Jen: Started off the morning with some oatmeal and raisins. Good breakfast, especially considering it was a cold morning. Just what I needed before going to sit outside at the bus stop with the kids. Once I got them off I had a lot of house work that needed to be done. The normal, sweeping, vacuuming, scrubbing bathrooms, etc. That took me until about lunch time. I made the Shrimp Promodo from the nutrition guide. This is a really good dish. Even if you aren’t into to dieting and such I can promise you that you would want to eat this….maybe even serve it to guests for dinner. REALLY GOOD! After that I showered and ran some errands before the kiddies came home. I made the family recipe chili for dinner tonight. Everyone loves chili night, especially my boys. Sorry guys, you’re not getting the recipe for that one. We shot our recap video for you guys after dinner. We have a lot of fun doing those things, so I am glad to see that you all watch and enjoy them. This week’s should be good. It’ll include things from the salmon run that should be quite hilarious. So now that all that was done and the children were tucked in it was TA-DA……..WORKOUT TIME! I am still sore from the last 2 days of working out, but thankfully that is only my lower half. Tonight’s workout was only on the upper body. Let me just say this……if you don’t like doing push ups……..this workout is not for you. I have an old gymnastics injury (tore up the rotator cuff) that DID NOT sit well with this workout. I made it about 45 mins through and then had to stop. My shoulder was screaming at me like something out of Hellrasier. But before I pooped out I managed to do a decent amount of reps. I did about 8-10 for each move. Most were done in the modified knee position. But hey, no need to cause further injury right? So I feel confident that after a while this will get better. I just need to know how far to push it. I joined back in for ab ripper. I tried to pay better attention to my form today and to push it a little further even when I wanted to give up. When I felt like I could do no more I waited a few seconds and then jumped back in with a couple more. I did a little different oblique move than the one in ab ripper. I can’t successfully complete the move yet because I think my obliques aren’t strong enough maybe. So I took one of the oblique moves we did from 10 Minute Trainer so that way I am still working the muscle. Needless to say I am friggin exhausted and sore as hell. Not only in my lower body now but my upper as well. I hear a shower and an ice pack calling my name. Good night everyone!
Tom: HEY how are you This morning I had some oatmeal, raisans, milk with protein powder. My A.M snack was a P90X Recovery drink. which as always hits the spot. Work today was crap try putting in 8 hours and only making about 4. So my day at work sucked to put it right out there. O well my lunch was a turkey sandwich with lettuce, spainach leaves and mustard. My P.M. snack was 6 whole wheat crackers with low fat cheese pieces to make mini sandwichs you all know what I’m talikng about. Dinner tonight was chilli with whole wheat noodles. Chest, shoulders, triceps, and Ab ripper X was very extreme for me. For the most part my arms feel very sore from tonight’s workout. I used the 10 lbs freeweights tonight for a few of my excercises the 25 lbs were a lilltle to much for me tonight. I did eight one handed pushups four form the left hand and four from the right. !!!! I did modify them though I did them on my knees but I did some tonight. Some of my pushups tonight were also done on my knees my arms couldn’t take the mass amounts of reps after reps. I feel my chest expanding during all these pushups in a good way I do breath a bunch during the pushup reps. You really need to do this if you want max reps. Otherwise you will run down and fall flat when the sloppy comes your done. Shake it out and wait for the next exercise. Ab ripper X is starting to get a tiny bit harder for me after these workouts. When I complete the first workout I keep the DVD rolling right into Ab ripper. I don’t like to waste time, plus your body is still in the zone. When I jump into this I’m exhausted but I keep breathing and know that I need to keep on Bringing it. Heels to the heavens i still have not yet mastered straighting my legs but I do feel the burn in my legs. Mason twist I have down I blow that excercise right out the door tonight, din’t put my feet down at all and did the extra!!! Night all…….

Jen: Thanks to all who left comments on yesterday’s review. The encouragement really means a lot. After yesterday I wasn’t too sure I could do this. But I did survive, much to my own belief. I cannot tell you how great it made me feel to read all of those comments. I am so happy to hear that other couples are doing it together as well. I think working out is truly something better accomplished when you do it with someone else. At least I know I need someone yelling at me to get those extra 2 or 3 out! Needless to say I was sore as hell when I work up this morning. At one point last night I seriously thought I was gonna puke from allthat jumping around (result of drinking too much water during the workout). I was fine though. You wouldn’t believe how quickly I fell asleep after that nice hot shower! I can’t say I did much today. I basically didn’t feel like moving unless necessary. But come 8 o clock it was time to push play again and see what I was made of. Today’s workout wasa much welcomed change after yesterday. Not nearly as much jumping or high intensity moves. Basically it was an hour of alternating curls and pull ups. I love working my upper body! I always have, even back in the sports days of high school. I am still made fun of by my friends to this day for having manly shoulders and such. My upper body bulks up like crazy whenever I work it, what can I say? This being my first night doing this routine I spent a few secs at the begining of each move trying to determine exactly what it was they were doing and which weights I should use. I prefer using free weights during upper body training but the weights I have are kind of in between. Either they we too heavy for what we were doing or the other ones were too small. I have 5 lb and 10 lb weights, so I have decided I will go get some 8lb weights before I do this again. I definately think the weight issue made this workout a little too easy for me. The bands just seem to get in my way and make me feel akward. But to each her own. I was feeling pretty good when we reached the end, but then I rmemebered we still had ab ripper to do. UGH! I have never successfully made it through ab ripper x, even when just fooling around while Tom was doing his workouts. I was feeling the pressure to bring it. I am proud to say I actually finsihed the whole thing. I had a few sec breaks here and there. Tony recommends you do that though if this is your first few times. My stomach feels like it is on fire right now as I sit here typing this though. I really don’t understand how to do the oblique side crunches. I was completely confused on how to position my body for that one. I probably looked all sorts of akward on that one. I will have to have Tom show me or something, because I definately know I am doing it wrong. So I have made it through 2 days. Yay for me! Tomorrow is yoga. I am really looking forward to that. Tom took tomorrow off of work (he is leaving for the annual guy fishing trip tomorrow night). So we are going to get to spend the whole day together while the kids are in school. So we will get to do early morning yoga and then go have sme adult fun time without little children. Didn’t you always hate it when your parents did that to you? Ha ha ha, now I know why!
Tom: Hi my breakfast was a bowl of cereal this morning honey oats, glass of milk, and coffie. Snack A.M was a Recovery drink P.M snack was 1 1/2 cheese snack and low fat 94% butter free popcorn. This time it was not burnt, but not all of it popped :<( … For my lunch I had healthy choice chicken marsala, green beans, and noddles. Work was kind of slow today not much happening. The afternoon shift was pretty slow not to much to work on today for the most part. Today was my last day at work before I leave to go fishing don’t worry about me i’m still going to be doing the workout on my trip. Dinner tonight was chicken, mashed potatoes, and asperagus, and I had 2 glasses of milk. My workout tonight was intense I started using 25 lbs weights for most of my excercises maxing out at 8 -10 each. which is great. (My bands) I went for the blue bands for my pullups which is much more than my previous weeks. I have made the choice to start using more weight and do less reps maxing out at 8 -10!!!! My arms are very sore tonight towards the end of the workout I swtiched of to the orange band for the hammers also i used 10 lbs dumb bells cause my arms couldn’t take anymore than that. I made it almost all the way through but had to change up on my weights so I could complete the night. WHich is fine with me cause I am not going to give up, I will make the change do my best and continue to bring-it. The workout tonight left me soaked in sweet. Its a great workout and same as always its set up very nicely to keep you rolling through each individual excercise. Ab ripper X I found myself taking a few extra breath seconds to catch up with myself due to the fact the Biceps and Back was very intense. For me about 7-8 minutes into the AB Ripper X I feel my mid section has worked this is when I was stopping to take my breaks just to adjust to allow myself to get ready so when I jump back in I can bang out a few extra. Nite!!! see you all out there for the great Salmon run ……Tiny salmon chasing the impossible dream. My friends say I am bad luck when I go everyone stops catching fish LOL HAA HAA thats a bunch of crap…..

P90X Day 29
Holy Smokes this workout tonight was another bruttle 1. My moring breakfast was oatmeal with a glass of milk ,and some raisins. For my snack I had a Recovery drink, and for lunch I had a turkey sub with trimings. My day at work was horrible I worked on the same problem vehicle for just about the whole day. Didn’t make many hours today thats for sure :<(, my afternoon snack was low fat cheese and crackers. I came home after work and mowed the yard. For dinner tonight was turkey helper with green beans, I had a beer with dinner I needed it after today getting out of work. My workout tonight was a tuff one for me. I used my 25 lbs dumb bells on some excercises. I did use the bands for 1 of my excercises, but felt I was not doing them properly so I switched to the 25lbs ones. I also used my 10 lbs bells for a few of the harder ones. In the program only grab what you can do and feel comfortable doing apply yourself to BRING -IT. All of my 25lbs were an even 8 -10 a piece didnt want to go overboard with those 25lbs is alot for me anyways. The one handed pushups for get it I had to go to my knees when those came up I had already been working hard and my arms were already sore during the first 15 minutes of the workout. I do like the slow motion pushups though they are great for practicing your breathing. All in all this workout was very energy boosting for me week 4 didnt seem to be this hard looks like this weeks going to pick it up a notch or 2. Abripper was indeed needed for me also week 4 there was no ab ripper for me so getting back into it tonight was good. I did very well tonight I did Bring-it and my arms are felling it. Good night…

P90X Day 19
Good day to you good folk! Spinach scrambler for breakfast. My body felt nice and relaxed from last night’s yoga. Put me into a nice deep sleep. Morning went good until I got to work and found out they didn’t pay me for some overtime I worked last week. This would be ok if it weren’t for the fact that they’ve done this like eight times in the course of three months. Eventually my wife came down and raised hell. That’s never good to piss off the lady that runs the budget. Problem solved. After that nonsense I grabbed my recovery drink, and boy did I need it after all that drama. Lunch was another awesome lowfat cheese turkey burger on my Foreman cooked right in my bay. Day went by smoothly and did more breaks jobs. Replaced some other interior componens. Afternoon snack was my cheese stick. Headed home shortly thereafter. Rained all day so I couldn’t wait to get home. Sick and tired of cars dripping on me all day. For dinner my wife made baked Tilapia, wild rice, and peas. I am so suprised that I am actually eating fish. I can’t stand fish, but she picks ones that aren’t fishy tasting and she adds some spices and stuff. We went out for ice cream after dinner. Everybodys’ human…..we all need one once in a while. Tonight’s wrkout was legs, back, and ab ripperx. My wife joined me for the whole thing except ab ripperx. even still, that is amazing because just the legs and back workout is about an hour. It was good to have a workout buddy. Plus it was cool to see her at the begining because it showed me how far I have come in just a couple of weeks. She did bring it though. I’ve added a couple of extra reps in my pullups. Also when doing the skaters I was able to keep my back foot of the ground more often. Ab ripper x…….during the heels to the heavens and fiefer scissors i struggled to keep it straight and clean. Definately didn’t get in all of my 25 because I was too busy taking a break and trying to breath. Next week I will be moving to Phase II of the nutrition guide. There are differnt phases to help your body accomplish different things like shedding fat, adding endurance, and what not. That about sums it up for today. See you all here tomorrow. It’s Friday.
