So this is round 2 for me on the p90x. Not a fresh round two, but rather a restart. Last time I got to day 67, so close! But yet so far. I have come at it again. One thing I noticed is that I gained a lot of fat back and my mid section has plumped up again. The good thing is that I can still feel the muscle I have built. My arms and legs became very dense and muscular from my first go at it. That is still there but I think there is a bit more fat around it from not exercising at all and eating horribly. This helps me to realize that once you are ‘done’ with the p90x you must still stay committed to a healthy lifestyle filled with exercise and good eating habits. It is not like you can do p90x for 90 days, pat yourself on the back, and be done working out for life. My goal here is to make exercise and healthy eating a habit for life. This time if things get crazy I will let myself take a day or two off, instead of stopping for good. I think that is good advice for others out there as well.
Tomorrow is Chest and Back, we will see how it feels to be back!
EVERYONE BRIAN DILLON IS BACK.
Let me first explain where I went…
As you may have gathered from my posts I am — scratch that — was a college student. Due to a complicated set of circumstances I decided to graduate early. This meant that I need to do a lot of extra work. Additionally, I started to date a beautiful girl from Brooklyn, and I started to drive down there from Rochester every other week or so. The combination between traveling having to buckle down on my studies and preparing to move took over all my time and attention. It became nearly impossible to consistently workout, take pictures, and blog.
I should have updated sooner, but I was so ashamed of my failure that I didn’t want to even show my face on the blog. I thought that nothing could derail me from doing the p90x perfectly for 90 days. Could I have let myself take two weeks off and get going again? Probably. Could I have modified the program to do it every other day? Certainly. But I want to do the program the way it was intended so everyone can see the results.
Now that things have settled down and I am out of school and living with my brother I have the time and ability to start up again without all the chaos in my life. I realize however, not to dismiss what I have already done. I think this blog shows that it is not an easy thing to complete a workout program for 90 days. To everyone else out there who has completed it, or is still bringing it, I give you lots of credit and respect. I have seen some people start blogs because of this one and some of those people are already done with their 90 days. Great Work! I am now ready to come join you.
I am going to start over the program again and learn from all my mistakes. I am going to focus more on nutrition this time around. That will be a big help to people to see what nutrition through the P90X looks like. I will also try to post videos that show what the program really looks like as well. Expect an even better blog! Here is a list of things to expect:
- Better Photos The other photos relied too much on flash and washed out the contrast that would better show my muscle development.
- Focus on Nutrition Last time I was a major slacker in the nutrition area. This time I will be more diligent with what I eat and share my experience of putting together a P90X meal plan.
- Better Daily Photos I will take the standard 6 photos but show them all. As well as other close up shots to show the changes.
- More Comments I will make a stronger effort to respond to all questions in the comment section about the program. Please ask!
- Word Press Template I will help anyone to set up a blog similar to mine for their own p90x journey. I can help you get a domain name, install wordpress, design a header, and implement this template. Please contact me in the comments if you are interested!
I am really excited to get started again. I hope you all welcome me back, and help me bring it again! Thank you everyone for your support and concern in the comment sections, your words have meant a lot to me and is making me step up to bring it again, rather then quit forever. You all have inspired me!

Thanks for all the feedback from my last post. I have been bringing but I decided to leave that post so it would get attention. Part of me feels guilty for running into problems. It is hard to confront the fact that despite my commitment I took the nutrition for granted. However, I hope that this serves as a lesson for people about to start the P90X that it isnt a cake walk, and that you need to be serious about it. Also, that the more work you put in, the more you will get out of it. That may be obvious, but I hope people about to start the P90X can learn from my experience.
The truth is that the P90X has helped me achieve such great results already. For me, I should be proud of the fact that I have even come this far. I have never once in my life stuck with a fitness program or routine for more then a week. I haven’t even come close before in actualizing the potential I have to be fit and healthy. So far the P90X has transformed my life. I feel utterly confident in my body now, which I never truly felt before. Also, it has taught me that real change is possible. I have seen results and I know that I can continue to see more results. That lesson alone has been worth this program. Not only does that lesson apply to physical fitness but in every other life endeavor. It has shown me that true change comes from working hard and not wishing hard. So lets bring it in this last stretch.

EMERGENCY HELP. I flat out skipped the P90X today. Not good. I kept meaning to fit it in and I had some people stop by and they didn’t leave until 2am. By then I said screw the p90x, and went to bed.
This is dangerous. I have come so far. I really should be cranking it up a notch, not toning it down. Also, I feel like my intensity has plateaued. Although, I know I have gotten stronger by noticing how much more I can lift, I feel like I look the same now as I did on day 29. Shouldn’t I be much more ripped by now? Have I not been bringing it enough? Have I let myself get a little too lazy with my nutrition? Yes probably.
It seems like whatever creative endeavor I am in there comes a point 3/4 the way through where everything starts to fall apart. It seems like all the hard you have put in is going to be a waste. I think I have hit that mark. Please anyone out there experience this? Any suggestions for me to refocus and to really bring it for the last leg?

In my attempt to be more social I woke up early and played some intense racquet ball with a friend. However, the combination of waking up really early and moving around a lot tired me out from doing the assigned P90X workout. I was supposed to do Plyo, but since having done it on Saturday decided not to. I ended up taking a long nap and not being very productive. I need to make sure I get enough sleep next time.

I really must say that since getting a pull up bar I realize its crucial to really maximize results with the P90X. Pulls are very hard, which means they will give you great results. I have been casually doing pull ups throughout the day and it feels great. When I started the p90x I could barely do two. Now I can push myself and crank off 8 at a time. Wow. I never believed it was possible.
Also, today I just followed the workouts without the video. I’ve done the moves so much that I don’t need the cueing the get the most out of the workout. It helped me to cut down the time a bit, because Tony takes time to explain the moves, chat it up, etc. So if you are in a hurry go head and just follow the workouts from the booklet. The other technique I have used is tracking ahead on the DVD when I finish with the workout. It shave off a few minutes.

To be completely honest, I usually dog it a bit on P90X Plyometrics. I will end the move 5 seconds early. Often I skip gap jumps because I barely have the space for it in my room. However, today I substituted Plyo for when the P90X called for Kenpo. I did this because I feel like Plyo is harder and burns many more calories and also strengths your legs more, and is better for your heart. In this last month of the P90X I really need to lose a few more pounds to reveal all the great muscle I have been building, so I figured as much plyo the better. And today I really brought it on Plyo like never before. The key is focus on the exercise at hand and not to worry about how many moves are left. I just took it 30 seconds at a time and that allowed me to do everything with precision and I am sure get a better workout.
