Help Wanted for P90X Blog

My P90X blog is dying because I don’t have the time to do it anymore. When this was updated daily it was a great thing for myself and others interested in the P90X. I’m hoping it can be great once more. I’m looking for somebody to take over. If you’re interested let me know. Thank you.

P90X Review Day 7 and 8: New Years in NYC

The problem I had last time, is that I felt if I skipped a day or two I would basically have to quit the program. As much as I am committed to bringing it, I am committed to enjoying my life as well! I am going down to NYC for two days to visit my girlfriend and to enjoy new years. I will take two days off. However, I will do some stretching today and some push ups tomorrow. I think that this shows a better balance. Not to make it all or nothing. But to do a toned down version while I am away. I will do some various push-ups and stretching.

P90X Review Day 6: Kenpo X gets its payback

p90x day 6

I did a lot of bad mouthing about Kenpo X during my first go around with the P90X. I said that it got boring and easy. I sometimes even went as far as replacing Kenpo with the hellish Plyometrics. So this time I decided to spice it up and add little weights in my fist during the punches and kicks. Well, I dunno if it was just that or the fact that I am a little out of practice, but I started to dog it about halfway through. I felt like it really tested me. Not the whippy Kenpo X I remember. Perhaps it heard me bad mouthing it and this was its sweet sweet revenge. Now I feel it in my back and all over my body. I think I will learn to respect the Kenpo X in the future.

P90X Review Day 5: Leg Crushing!

p90x day 5

Legs and Back. This one really woke my legs up from their slumber. I have been feeling this one all day. Anytime I had to bend my legs during the day it reminded me of how much I brought it. Getting in and out of my car became a new challenge. (It wasn’t so bad but I could feel the muscle ‘pain’ all day). Walking up the stairs to my apartment I could feel it. This must mean I did something right. The more muscle ‘pain’ I feel I am sure the better results I will see. The pain is refreshing because I know I really gave it my all and its nice to be reminded of that all day.

P90X Review Day 4: The real secret to P90X – YOGA!

p90x day 4

I really think that the key to success with the p90x is the Yoga workout. I know when I had my blog before people commented on how little progress it seemed I had made. The unfortunate thing is that it is hard to capture all the change with a photograph. The truth is that there is a lot of changes that happen beneath the surface. Yes, it is fun and exciting to look jacked and ripped to show off. But, as I have realized, perhaps its more important to feel fit, flexible, and most importantly healthy and energized. Yoga has the ability to unclog your body and your mind. After doing yoga I have this light, open feeling that goes beyond just looking ripped. It makes your body feel like a million dollars when your done.

Yoga is a necessary medicine for my body that takes a beating on the other p90x workouts. The amazing thing is that the other workouts actually do a great job of building muscle. The problem sometimes is that will all the new muscle growth and body reshaping you can feel stiff, tight, and sometimes uncomfortable. Yoga X helps to soothe that process like a doctors anesthesia.

P90X Review Day 3: My Triceps are king!

p90x day 3

So doing the arms workouts again showed me how strong my triceps have become. P90X really did a good job at making my arms thicker and stronger. They started to obtain that rock solid feel that I never thought was possible. So on this arm workout I was really able to bring it. The thing I noticed from not workout for a few months is that the muscle does stay but the fat comes back.

The new treat that I’ve added this time around is the P90X Recovery Formula. I didn’t get it at first because it seemed like an unnecessary addition. Boy was I wrong. I have used some other protein powered before but this one is the best ever. It also isn’t just protein it has all kinds of other great things in it. It also tastes great, it has an orange julius flavor. I really recommend it and I also hope that it helps me to achieve greater results this time.

P90X Review Day 2: Plyo for Christmas. I guess I’ve been naughty.

p90x day 2

So because my family opens Christmas presents bright and early there was no way for me do my p90x workout in the morning. I knew that I would go back to my apartment late at night and try to do it there. Because of this I curbed my normally out of control holiday eating habits. Usually on Christmas there is a constant flow of food and candy treats to munch on without stopping. This time I practiced extreme restraint. I did not want to be doing plyo will a belly stuffed full of prime rib and cheesecake. I did succeed. Usually I am notorious for having sometimes three servings of dessert. This time I only took a half scoop of ice cream and two fork-fulls of cheesecake. After all it is Christmas and I don’t want to completely deprive myself. It also allowed me to savor the taste even more because I knew it was all I was getting.

Plyo was even tougher then I had imagined. Having done it nearly every week previously I started to get used to its challenge. But my legs have gotten a bit out of shape. Plyo really pushes the limits of your legs and your heart. Every time you squat down your quads burn more and more. Sometimes you think that your quads will just give out. Of course they never do and your left with an intense workout. I must admit I did not make it all the way through this time. But it served as a reminder that these next 88 days will not be easy. Also, that it will take a while to build back up to my prior strength. Can’t wait to Rock out my arms tomorrow.

P90X Review Day 1: That long forgotten burn!

p90x day 1

Its is good to be back on the P90X. I had forgotten how much better p90x made my life before. It is easy to get off track and get lazy. The bad part is that you don’t realize how important working out is until you do it again. After working out I feel great, absolutely energized. The past few weeks I would get up and feel slugglish, and that feeling would mostly last all day. After working out and getting my blood pumping my body was so thankful.

I ate oatmeal before working out — I will never do that again. Half way through I felt like throwing up so I took a long break to let my food digest some more. Then I brought it for the second part and for Ab Ripper X. I got the P90X Chin-Up Bar because I am in an new apartment and it can fit the doors, unlike my old dorm room. I pushed all the exercises to failure and by the end I could barely push myself off the ground. For the rest of today I could feel the effects of the workout in my arms. What a great feeling! I really excited to be bringing it again. I can feel my happiness level going up already.
