Hello! Today was core and I really tried to “bring it” today. I was sweating and out of breath at some points, so I guess I was! I was able to do all the exercises, some not all the reps, but most. I was actually able to do a couple chuttarunga runs! Before I was staying in plank, but not today! It feels nice to be able to overcome and obstacle especially with your workouts. I think my ability to do push-ups is improving. I don’t hate core days as much now, alright! Maybe I should start doing the bonus round.
I have to get strict again with my diet. I was talking with someone about their P90X journey and he said he lose 12 lbs just in the first phase. I know everyone’s different and he is a man, but he ate the same exact thing everyday so he was REALLY on top of his diet. I would just like my tummy to be flatter, because it is on it way, and I don’t want to see cottage cheese on my legs anymore! So today, I had a egg white scramble with peppers and onions, I forgot the cheese, and for lunch I am having an Antipasto salad….YUM! I’m actually waiting for the delivery now and I am sooooo hungry!!! I will be sure to have my P90X bar, yogurt, and a piece of fruit sometime today, and for dinner I am making my extra yummy home made chicken soup. My little ones are sick and could use it!
Tomorrow………huumm…..tomorrow I am leaving for Connecticut at 5:30 AM for my daughters cheerleading competition! Obviously not waking up any earlier to work out! The competition ends at 5pm, probably, so we should be home by 8 or 9 depending if we stop for dinner. It will have to be a late night Yoga X session….hopefully not a Yoga ZZZZZ session!!! I’m sorry, that was lame……Also, pictures and weigh in! Please God give me the strength to NOT buy french fries and burgers at this convention center!!!! I really need to see 144 or less on that scale!! If I don’t have time on Saturday, I will do all this on sunday. Crap! I don’t have that much time on Sunday either because I have to coach a 2:00 then my own practice at 8:00. I’ll figure it out!!!

Erin,
I see the seeds of “self destruction” in your writing when you talk about the weight thing. Let go of the obsession about it. You look great, P90X is obviously doing wonders for you and you will get to your targets – if not at 90 days at 180. Who cares how much weight some guy lost in the first phase? As Tony says, “Do your best and forget the rest.” With the diet, the program is supposed to teach you a lifestyle that you can live with – so don’t be too Spartan about it or you will crash.
Myself – I am on week 6 and I have actually gained one pound since starting. I don’t really want to lose weight though, just get into really good shape – and I am seeing a whole lot of difference and feel and look so much better – the rest will come.
I’m a big fan. YOU KEEP GOING! Because you are an inspiration to us all.

Hi Barb,
I know I really need to stop dwelling on the numbers on the scale. I think once this 90 days is over, I will be happy no matter what the scale says. I do feel and look better.
Thank you so much for your kind words, and I hope all is well with your workout!

Erin – Hope things went well for you and the kids in Connecticut today.
I did day 4 Yoga X today. I’ve taken “Gentle Yoga” classes before, but this was killer. At about the 45 minute make I was sweating like crazy and didn’t think I was going to be able to make it all the way through. Fortunately, it gets a bit easier at that point, switching to stretches and balance poses. Those Ohmmmmm’s at the end are comical.
I find it helpful to go back to your blog posts for the day that I’m on. 4 days in, 90 days seems like a very long way to go.

Hi Dean,
the competition was great! They were so confident out there in front of all those people! Thank you!
I know what you mean about that mid point of yoga. You get really tired by that point and my arms are like jello by the end of those moving asanas! Then you get to the balance postures, and it is sort of a rest, then you get slammed with the Yoga Belly X part!
It’s definitely not gentle!
Good luck!

Erin,
I’m contemplating purchasing and starting p90x. I’m 44 yrs old, not in great shape and have some concerns with the diet. I’m alergic to dairy products and I’ve noticed that you do cottage cheese and other dairy products in your diet. you mentioned that you eat certain things and then for dinner you “fill-in” what you haven’t eaten. is there a chance you can include a picture of the fill-in boxes or post some of the breakfast and dinner options so that I can see if I will be able to find alternatives to cheese and dairy.
Thanks and keep up the good work. I’m anxious to see your results.
