Today I was supposed to do Kenpo X, but I got mixed up with tomorrow and I did X Stretch. OOPS! It shouldn’t be a big deal, I can just do Kenpo X tomorrow.
So X Stretch went ok seeing that it was just stretching! I personally think a whole hour of stretching is too long, but I guess if you are burning a few calories, it can’t hurt. I just can’t wait for week 9.
I have been stressing out a little this week. My daughter is on the Tiny team at my all star gym and I am their coach. We have competition this Saturday and I will be there all day. I am worried that I wont get my workout in! I have to be in Connecticut at like 8 AM and it takes two hours to get there. There is now way I can do an hour and a half of Yoga in the morning, and who knows when I will get home! Not only that, but this is the first time all of these little ones will ever compete! And this is no small high school competition, it’s in a huge convention center! The ages range from 4-6 so they are still babies! I think I am more nervous than they are!! We have one last practice tonight and I am hoping they will be ready!

I got my p90x in the mail today and can’t wait to get home and start it tonight. you have been an inspiration for me. can you tell me what I should go out and buy? I know yoga mat and dumb bells, but is the chin up bar really neccessary?

Hi Katie. You can use resistnace bands and that door attachment for the chin-up exercises if you cant really do any chin-ups. I started out with the bands because I wanted to get some reps in rather than struggling with one or two chin-ups. But either the bands or the chin-up bar is the only other piece of equipment you would need. There is tons of stuff you can buy that will help, but these few things are what’s pretty much necessary.
Good luck starting the P90X!!!

Hi Erin, I was just curious as to how much weight you have lost so far? My husband bought P90X about a year ago when I was pregnant and we never used it. We have been going to the gym regularly and since we have P90X we are going to start the program. And I am worried that I will not lose the weight that I want to lose by May. I was thinking that I would do the doubles program so I can get the extra cardio in. Have you tried the doubles at all? I just don’t want to burn out though.
Thanks,
Amanda

Hi Amanda! So far I lost 10 pounds doing the classic approach. If I did doubles or lean, I might have lost more by now, but I really wanted to build muscle too so I chose classic. Muscle weighs more than fat and mine have been getting bigger, but as long as I’m loosing fat I don’t care too much. I do want to loose another 10, hopefully! I was actually thinking about doing doubles for the last phase, but I don’t know if I will have time in the evening to do another workout. I have kids at home and there is always some activity going on in the evening during the week. Try doubles if you are interested. If it’s too much, just switch to classic. The schedule is the same except the extra cardio workout.
Good Luck!

Hey Erin,
I just wanted you to know how much I love this forum! I was just surfing P90X before/after photos to keep my motivation up and I found that we are on the SAME day in the program! How cool is that? I don’t know about you but I am seeing some results!!! So anyway, I’m not a fan of the Core week either, let me know if you ever want to talk =D
Regards,
David

Thanks David! That’s funny that we’re on the same day!! Although I did screw up and did X Stretch yesterday and kenpo X today! OOPS! I am seeing some great results so far, I lost 10 pounds, but I am going to try and really kill it for phase 3. I want to loose 10 more pounds and really tighten everything up.
So how are you doing with the diet? I was really strict with it at first, now I am more loose about it. I still try and stay within the portion limits, mainly limiting the carbs and getting enough protein. I hope I’m not screwing myself by not being as strict, but I was really miserable having a diet THAT limited!
Tomorrow we have Core
Good luck with that!
