If you haven’t already figured out, today was a practice day. Last week we took it easy and did some choreography, but this week we worked hard! Well, the first half hour we got fitted for our uniform and I have to say, I was happy with myself! I was a little concerned about this fitting because we had to basically change right there in the gym. Another thing that I was concerned about was the uniform itself. Usually, all star uniforms are half tops (sometimes whole, depending on the team) with an extremely short skirt with bloomers underneath. There is a new kind of uniform out that has shorts for bottoms instead of the skirt. So these shorts are made out of motion flex material which is really stretchy, but still thick. Yeah…….my butt in a really short pair of low cut stretchy pants! I guess it wont be much different than my weekly photos, but I never wear those shorts like that anywhere else!!! ANYWAY, I tried the shorts on the rep brought, which was a large, and they fit really good!!! Not tight as hell like I thought they would be! A perfect fit. I don’t care that it’s a large, I just care that I wasn’t bulging out of it! Last year I was a large top and a large bottom. I was measured for my top and I have moved down to a medium! So hopefully I will look nice in this uniform!
Anyway, enough about the uniform!! We did a lot of stunting and a little bit of tumbling and choreography this practice. I actually pulled a muscle in my forearm. I never even had muscle there before so that was weird and painful! For anyone reading this who is a cheerleader, we were doing 360’s up right into a front flip cradle. I was main basing and there is no time to reset the grip before the throw! OUCH! That’s where it happened! It’s gonna look great though! So far in this routine, I have to do a standing back tuck and a round off back hand spring! I am excited and I know I can do it, I just have to work at it and get it good in a month!
