HAPPY 2010 EVERYONE! Today, the first day of the new year, was day 33 of my workout. Legs and back was the exercise and it was a good one. The start of a new year was a good reason to start something new with my workouts. I have officially switched to the chin up bar!!! I realized that I would eventually have to go to the bar, so what better day then today. I did 10 reps for each chin-up exercise with the assistance of a chair. I noticed that it’s the initial pulling yourself even to the mid point that is the hardest, so that’s where I use the chair. Once I get to that point, I try to just use my arms to finish the rep. Upping the bands each week with the door attachment probably helped. I can do one or two real pull ups with no chair at all, with great struggle, but I couldn’t even do one before! Making progress here! The other half of this workout was the legs, something that I think I am pretty good at. I love working leg muscles and I always bring it here!
Ab ripper X was good to me too. I finished all 339 reps again. Oh, you know what else I changed for the new year? Well, since I was pretty familiar with these workouts by now, in the beginning of the DVD I chose “Silence and Cues” and put my iTunes on. After a while, you get tired of hearing the same guitar music in the background. I don’t mind hearing Tony but I am getting tired of the music. So I listed to my own. I only heard Tony when it was time to start something or if there was an important point he had to make.
As we speak, or as I type and you read later on……anyway, I am drinking the recovery formula. I haven’t done legs and back since week 3 and I am FEELING it!!! This drink is hitting the spot right now!
One of my many New Year’s resolutions:
Push myself even harder with my workouts and keep my diet on track (stop forgetting to take my vitamins!)

Great job for sticking to it this long! I bought the program early 2009, did Phase 1 but then found mental/life excuses to quit doing it. Getting started again monday 1/4/2010 but am going to add beachbody’s Insanity program (formulated a good hybrid)when entering Phase 2. Keep this site going because its a good motivational piece for me. Look forward to posting updates here as well.

Hey thanks Ben! Let me know how it works out adding Insanity to P90X. It’s cool that you are doing that. I might try Insanity after this or a second round of P90X.
Good luck with your P90X-Insanity infusion!

Hi Erin,
Happy New Year!
Glad to see you are sticking with P90X! Keep it up and keep going. It will be one year for me personally on January 5th. The time goes very fast and the results are rewarding. Good luck!!!!

Hi Tracy! Wow! One year! Do you take a break in between rounds? Do you start from phase 1 again or do you have your own schedule? I think I want to do this for more than 90 days but I’m not sure if I should take a break or not. Were you really strict with your diet? I really try to be, but sometimes I slip up!
Thanks Tracy!

I just wanted to say that I have been reading your posts and it is truly an inspiration. I do not have P90X but I want to buy it very badly. I just have to save up the money first. Hopefully I can buy it soon enough. I feel so pumped about it! I look forward to another post and Happy New Year!

Hi Kirk, it seems to be working for me. The workouts are great and the way they are set up is pretty much perfect. One thing that I realized is really important is the diet. I was really strict with the diet during the first week, no slip ups what so ever, and I lost 5 lbs. It could also have been that my body was totally shocked because the extreme change in my diet, but whatever!! I posted my 5 week photos last night and noticed that my stomach was bigger than last week which sucks! But I think it’s because I am not as strict as I was in the beginning. That picture made me never want to sneak a cookie again!!

Lara-
I just wanted to inform you that QVC’s website ( http://www.qvc.com ) has the P90X system for a good price with the option of easypay. (5 Payments of around $28). I purchased mine through them and it came super fast. I’m still making payments on it, but it’s totally worth it.
