P90X Phase 2 has begun!

Hey guys!  Today was the start of phase 2, which is day 29.  My workouts for the day were Chest, Back, and Triceps, and Ab Ripper X.  A new workout, a new challenge.  There were a lot of push-up exercises which were hard for me, but I realized that I should do them on my knees to get more reps in.  Just like with chin-ups and using the bands.  I would rather modify and get a good set in then do one or two in bad form.  It was nice to do different moves today.  For most of the band exercises, I used either 5, 10, or 15 lbs.  I couldn’t go any heavier this time, but I did record everything so that I can up my weights next time.  I liked the workout, my upper body is a little sore which is good.  The whole muscle confusion thing seems to be working.  I think if you do the same thing all the time, you wouldn’t ever get sore past a couple weeks of workout out.

I am still doing well with Ab Ripper X.  Just a few short of doing all of the reps.  I was actually missing this workout last week.  I was thinking about sneaking it in on the stretch day, but I didn’t!  My schedule was all messed up anyway!

My diet is back on track today.  Christmas is over and all the leftovers are gone!  The one thing I hate about dieting, or eating differently than you normally do, is that moment of weakness that almost always happens.  When you eat something not a part of your diet or when you eat too much!  It’s almost like a binge!  I didn’t over do it on Christmas, but I ate like I used to.  It felt like I was getting a treat!  The Nutrition Plan diet really does work if anyone is questioning that.  I have lost 8 lbs already which I don’t think I would have if I didn’t follow the diet.  But I do miss some of the foods I used to eat!  Oh well.  I am benefiting from this program, no question so I am going to stick with it.

Great to hear that you’re willing to give up your old habits for a better self Erin. Hopefully I don’t have to diet since I’m already thin, just looking for muscle lol. Oh yeah, I watched your YouTube video and I was wondering how much all the protein powder and all of that cost. I want to set aside some money for when I do begin as I have a roommate who might do the workouts with me.

Thanks Izzy. It’s really hard to give up old habits. I love food and I love to eat, so it’s been hard! But what motivates me to stick to the diet is looking at my before pictures and comparing all the other pictures I took. I want to keep loosing weight! I haven’t had a soda since I started and I used to drink a lot. Soda really kills any chance of you loosing weight!

The vanilla whey protein powder was about $40 and you get a 30 day supply. The other sake I made, I used Shakeology which was about $120. Kinda pricy, but it’s really good for you. It really works in terms of your regularity. I’m sure it does a lot more, but those things are probably internal that you can’t see. I also use the recovery drink after each workout which is about $44. You will definitely need the recovery formula with these workouts.

    Thanks for stopping by!

I’ve lost 7lbs. I did mess up once, and learned so much from it! The workouts are great, eating clean is great, but if you don’t do them TOGETHER, you are shooting yourself in the foot. I tried for so many years to ignore that. I always was dieting well or working out well. This program has changed that so fast…

Hi Amy, congrats on the 7 lbs! I think once you pass that 5 lb weight loss, it’s official! Women’s weight goes up and down by a few pounds all the time, so once you pass that 5 lb mark, you know you are really loosing weight and not just water. Well, was my feeling anyway! I feel exactly the same about combining the diet with working out. I did other programs before and didn’t diet at all and it’s like I was totally wasting my time. The first week, I lost 5 lbs because my body wasn’t used to working out like that AND it wasn’t used to me eating like that. Then from there it was only a pound or two per week which is fine with me as long as I keep loosing. I know I can’t loose 5 every week because of the resistance training.

    Keep up the good work!!

    -Erin
