Hi! I just want to do a recap of my rest day. I didn’t actually rest. I had all-stars practice. It was an “endurance” day which means we didn’t do any stunting or choreography, we did nothing but jump and tumble (back hand springs, etc.) So I have to say that I am pretty sore from that! My shoulders and back in particular. So I wanted to know if two weeks of P90X can improve my performance at practice. I think it did a little. I wasn’t super cheerleader, but I wasn’t winded doing the million jumps we had to do and I did accomplish something new! For the past two or three practices, I was able to do a round off back handspring by my self with not spot. Last night, I was able to do a round off with two back hand springs! It may seem like a small step to some, but in the cheerleading world, it’s pretty big to get past that first skill. Next week I will attempt standing back hand springs and a standing tuck on the floor with no spot (standing tumbling much harder than after round off). I can do it on the trampoline, but the floor is where it counts!
Today was chest and back and ab ripper x. I was really tired today and didn’t want to wake up at all!! Plus it was so cold downstairs. I had a cup of hot tea before I started. Warmed up my abs! So on to the workout. My push up skills still aren’t where I would like them to be. I do 10 reps for most of the exercises, except for the wide ones. I did 15 of those today. I think the dive bomber push ups should be at the beginning of the workout. They are hard and you can barely do any at the end when your all tired out and your muscles are all shaky! But I am not here to complain about the exercises! They are working and helping me get into shape! I just need to shut my mouth and “bring it!” I am still using the door attachment and the green band for my chin-up exercises. I think I will move on to the black band (50 lbs) next week.
Ab ripper x is still hard but I am getting there. I did 300 of the 339 (right number) so I was 39 short of perfect! But I am starting to feel some actual muscle pushing their way through my belly fat! Exciting!
My diet is the same. Egg whites for breakfast, tomato soup for lunch, cottage cheese ,yogurt, or fruit for a snack, P90X bar, and dinner. I am actually getting used to not eating as much. I feel a little uncomfortable after dinner. I think I need to reduce my plate size even more. Last night I had a nice sirloin steak (3 oz), a small baked potato with olive oil spread and pepper, and corn. I felt so full, I wanted to go to the gym and run it off! Since it is in my head that 1 coffee with creamer and a little sugar per day is affecting my weight loss, I have officially switched to black. It’s kinda nasty, but sometimes I just need the caffeine and tea doesn’t do it for me.
Tomorrow………PLYOMETRICS! NOOOO!!! Hopefully I will do better this time!

I did soooo much better this week. My wrist are finally starting to get stronger and I am ber able to do more. I am totally loving the burn. Ab Ripper is still a work in progress, but I will prevail. I am ready for Plyometrics tomorrow.

Hi Renee,
I’m glad to hear your wrist is getting better! It’s a tough one tomorrow, but I know you can do it! Hang in there and take longer breaks if you have to.

Hey Octavia,
I actually lost about 7 pounds the first week I think because my eating was so bad before I started and I pretty much never worked out. I think it was the shock of the changes that made me lose weight right away. From then on, I lost about 1 pound per week. Sometimes two. You should get a body fat tester. If you are gaining muscle, that can throw the scale off since muscle weighs more than fat.

I can do a lot more chin ups and pushups than when I started! Seeing the improvements are very motivating. Gotta bring it this week and grind it out for the “rest” week
