Hello!
Sorry for the late post, but I just got done with my workout! I was out all day trying to find a good bedroom set for each one of my kids that wont cost a small fortune! I saw a great set in a flyer in the newspaper, and of course when I get to the store, it wasn’t there! Of course. Oh the joys of Christmas shopping!!
Anyway, on to the workout!! Kenpo X was pretty fun! Not to say that it was easy for me because it surly wasn’t, but I enjoyed this one! The actual punches and kicks weren’t hard to do, but keeping up and doing them all was the challenge here. I actually used weighted gloves for all of the punching exercises in the first part of the workout, then when we moved on to the kicking and blocking, I took them off because my arms were on fire! When I got to the knee kick portion, for some reason I went too far or “brought it” way too much and tired myself right out! So I took a minute to catch my breath, but I was able to jump back into it. Overall it was a good cardiovascular workout and I am also feeling this on in my legs!
I have to admit, my diet wasn’t that great today. I only had two egg whites this morning and for lunch I had a cup of tomato soup. I had a couple of bites of chicken for a snack and for dinner I had shrimp alfredo at a friends house which was yummy, but probably not on my list of approved foods
I did do my workout after dinner, so I hopefully I burned some of those carbs off!
Oh yeah, just for a little motivation, I put my P90X calendar on the wall to remind me how many days I have kept up with the program, and how many I have to go. 6 days down, 84 to go!

Hi Erin!
Whoo-Hoo!!!
6 days down…very cool…
I’ve got my 2 down…
OMG!!!
I’m amazed I survived. There were some things that I couldn’t do, but I figured if I at least try and not quit then I’m that much closer to one day being able to do it. I’ve got the groceries needed to try to follow the nutrition plan as close as I can.
I can’t believe I’m going to say this but I’m enjoying it! Watch out maybe tomorrow I’m going to hate it!
Good luck and talk to you soon…
Joy

Hey Joy. That’s great! Keep going! It is hard! You just have to stick with it, even if you can’t finish the exercise or the workout. Just try to. I am enjoying this work out too, except for tuesdays…..plyo! Ugh!
hey Erin,
today I’ll be doing day 6 of Kenpo.
It’s pretty exciting so far (mainly painful) but I’m not sure I’m sticking with the diet. I can’t follow what P90x gives to the letter, so I’m a little lost. Can you help me out.
I’m labeled as a level 1 in the nutrition plan.
In the morning I usually have an omelet( Is that okay?) or a can of tuna. Everyday at lunch I have salad. For dinner I usually have rice, chicken and 3 corn tortillas or 1 flour.
The main thing I’m worried about is the portions. It’s so hard to keep track of everything!!!
Any advice on the diet would be REALLY helpful! Thanks

Hello Isaac!
Omelets are good for breakfast. The nutrition plan says to use egg whites, but it’s good if you add low fat cheese and veggies. Salad for lunch is always good, but you can add chicken or tuna to keep up with your protein servings. Don’t forget to have two snacks per day. I like to have a yogurt and a P90X protein bar usually. Your dinner sounds ok, but you might be eating too many carbs! At level 1 in phase 1 you are only allowed 1 serving of carbs per day which is about 1 cup of brown rice (more healthy and body processes it better) OR the tortillas. You could do half and half if you want both. I feel like the carb and the protein portions are the most important part of this diet. Eating too many carbs can slow your weight loss and not eating enough protein can slow your muscle growth. Building muscle speeds up your metabolism. It’s kinda complicated, but if you try and follow the plan as best as you can, you will be happier in the end!
