Hey Guys. Day two was pretty difficult. Plyometrics is really tough and it’s hard to keep up, but I did stick it out for the whole workout. About 25 minutes into the workout, I had to take a little break, maybe 3 minutes, and a few other short breaks here and there through out the workout. My heart rate was really high towards the middle of the workout, about 185, so I needed that break to bring it down a bit. Anyway, plyometrics really worked out my legs and my lungs with all the jumping, lunging, hopping, and leaping. It was really rough, but I am happy that I actually stuck it out!
As far as my diet goes, I ate turkey bacon, egg whites, and some low fat cheddar cheese for breakfast. Not very tasty, but it did the trick. I had a recovery drink after my workout, a tuna salad for lunch, and fruit and yogurt for my first snack. I will have a bar a little later for another snack, and fill in the blanks for dinner. I am really trying to stick to the portions approach by measuring out what I am eating, sticking to the approved foods list, and following the daily servings chart. It’s pretty easy.
Be back tomorrow!

Hey Erin – I figured I’d be your first comment!
I just started a round 2 of p90x on Monday with you. I’ve done one round already, but took 9 months off between, so I’m strating from scratch.
Good luck in your workouts – I’ll be checking in on your blogs.
Joe
Hey great! It will be nice to have you along for the ride!
Good luck to you as well!
Plyo days are the hardest for me, but boy what a workout. My two year old daughter loves all the jumping I do. She’ll either sit on the couch and giggle at her silly daddy or jump around the living room with me.

Hi Brad. I am already dreading tomorrow because it’s a Plyo day! Hopefully it will get easier week to week. My kids like to jump in too. My daughter is usually in school when I work out in the morning, but my son is home (he’s almost 2). But this morning, my son slept in and my daughter had the day off of school and she was grabbing the bands and pretending to do push-ups! Funny!
Hi Everyone,
January 5th will be a year since I started the P90X program. If you can not do it all the first few times around do not get frustrated,,,it will come. I went from doing 0 pull ups/chin ups, etc to 150 during a workout session. The same for the push ups.
Keep up the good work and stick with it.
Good Luck!!

Hi Tracy,
thanks for the encouragement. It’s week 4 and I do seem to be getting better at these workouts. Plyo will be my toughest challenge, but once I master this I will feel sooo much better! Push-ups and pull-ups are a challenge that I hope to overcome too. I have a bad wrist, so I tend to give up on doing too many, but the bars do help.
Thanks for stopping by and for the encouragement!
Erin
I just did plyo last night and omg I can’t remember the last time I sweat that much!! how the hell do they jump so high!!! I literally got my feet about 5cm off the floor and they’re touching their butts!! But then they aren’t 20kgs over weight either
Hope it gets easier, I’m not sore and didnt take any breaks, but DAYUM were my legs burning through it! I’m still really tender from day one, shoulders should be interesting tonight

I know, it’s crazy how they keep going. Maybe it’s the pressure of the camera on them! lol! Don’t worry katie, it will get easier!
Keep it up!

Hi,
I’m really thinking about buying the P90X for me and my husband. I had gastric bypass surgery about 9 months ago, lost 104 lbs so far. I have tried many, many, many, other diets surgery was my last resort. It’s working so far, and I feel great. I workout with my WII and eliptical at least 4 days a week. However, I really want to sculpt my body more, and watching these reviews really gets me wondering does this work? There are so many different informercials out there, but for some reason this one really appeals to me. I’d be very interested in everyone’s thoughts..should I buy it or not?

Hi Gidget,
wow! 104 pounds, that great! I bet you feel so much better! If you want to sculpt, yes this program absolutely works for that, along with other stuff too. But you will be doing a lot of resistance work.
If you stick to the schedule and the diet, you can lose even more weight and you will get some muscle. How much muscle is really up to you. You do have a good amount of control of that with this program.
Good luck!

Hey Erin,
Hubby and I finally started. Day 2 down! The triplets look at us like we are crazy, but hey,we entertain them. Seriously thinking we are heading for 2 different goals and thinking I should be doing the lean and he the classic….why did you choose “classic” over “lean”? I am going to continue down this path and maybe change it up later, but never stop…I look forward to the workouts and the burn. We took before pics,so we would be sure and see our progress!

Hi Renee.
You must have your hands full with 3 babies! More power to you!
I chose classic because I do a couple sports and I could use the muscle build and performance improvement that classic can give you. Otherwise I probably would have chosen lean just to lose weight and tone up.

Hey Jonathan,
what sport do you play? P90X can help you improve in what ever sport you are into. Believe it or not, it helped me and I am a competitive cheerleader. I can tumble now at the age of 26. Doing stuff that I did almost 10 years ago. It does hurt at first. It’s a tough program, but it totally works. Look at my pictures. I’m am somewhat of a lazy person and it still worked for me. You just have to do it everyday and keep trying to do better each day.
Honestly, it can be hard to find the time to do this program because the workouts are an hour or more. My advise would be to have a set time everyday that you do these workouts. Morning is better, especially as a teenager in school. I’m sure you have practice right after school, then it’s home for dinner and homework. Trust me you will be too tired in the evening to attempt P90X. I know getting up early sucks, but trust me it’s your best bet and you will feel better all day.
There are a bunch of things they recommend you get to accompany this program. Of course you need either dumbbells or resistance bands and a chin-up bar or the band kit, but one thing that I really feel is a must is the recovery formula. It really helps to relieve soreness and helps your muscles repair and build after a hard workout. Plus if you are playing a sport, you don’t want to be all sore for practice!
Another piece of advise that I will give is to stick to the diet and do the portions approach instead of the meal plan. It’s so much easier and you parents wont have a hard time making you dinners following this plan. Or you if you cook for yourself by now.
Good luck Jonathan!!!!

Hey no problem Jonathan. Trust me it’s better to get your workout over with early. Sometimes I feel like I am supposed to be doing something at night, then I think, wait a minute…..I already did my workout
Than I can just relax for the evening.

Hello,
I bought P90X almost 6 months ago… I started a couple os times, and could not get myself together do pass the 1st video!
Anyway, I decided to start over again, using the calendar made a big difference for me… I have to right down everyday now, and I’m keeping up. Today is my 3rd day, my body hurts so much form yesterday, but I need to say that I LOVED the Cardio X, I had so much fun kicking, jumping and punching! Getting ready for arms and shoulders tonight.
Taking one day at a time!88 to go now!

I’m a retired merchant seaman ,was in real good shape for most of my life,I’m 57,since coming ashore for good six years ago i have lost it,very out of shape, went from 175ib to 210lb,i am sinking fast. I want to know if this program ‘WORKS’!!!…my blood preasure is borderline -130sys over 80dia . i know I’m not all the way gone yet** but I’m sinkin fast. I drive semi’s for a living and you can tell by looking at many truck drivers bodies where that can lead. I feel if I could just find my way back my life would change completely. I’m lookin for a cure is this it do u think???

Hi Dennis,
I can honestly say that this program can work if you stick with it. It can be tough getting up everyday to work out for an hour, but if you do, you will lose weight and get stronger. The diet is also pretty important. You really need to be strict with it, especially in the beginning, and especially if you need to lose weight. I have lost about 20 pounds so far, but homestly, if I put even more effort into the workouts and was even more strict with my diet, I could easily be down to 125 from 155. Check out the pictures. I took them every week. You might have to scroll through some of the posts to find them, but they are there!!!
Good Luck!

Hi Garion,
if you stick to the workout schedule and stick to the diet, you will lose weight for sure!

Plyometrics is ridiculous crazy! I liked the Heisman, Military and the Big Truck tire. The frog hop was intense. Im sweating like crazy! As I started getting warm the achyness and the soreness from yesterdays excercise went away. (I had to get my wife to brush my hair because I couldnt lift my arms high enough! LOL) My 11 year old and 6 year old daughters did the Plyo with me. We ALL were on fire!
2 down!

Hey Ken. WOW! You must have really been working hard if you couldn’t brush your hair!! I like a lot of the moves individually too, but put them together in an hour workout and forget it.
