    Hey,

Just finished week #1 for my second “go around” P90X Classic. I finished my first go around about a month ago. I didn’t take a break. My month off of P90X was back to my old routine. I did break down my weights routine to three times/week, with one day of Plyo X. I did my weights routine concentraiting on large muscle groups and running on the off days.

I’m an old guy and have lost about 60 pounds in the last two years. I’ve been able to play hockey again for the last year. What a blast! Oldest on the team and still a force.

P90X has been another tool that I’ve used since the dr. scared me two years ago. I don’t live a perfect life style in regards to diet, but I have come a long way.

Too many soft tacos tonight………….. but, chicken tacos instead off beef!

    We’ll keep trying.

So where are the photos? After 180 days you should be ripped. How do I know that you really did it?

Hey Tom, man i was actually looking at the 10 Minute Trainer Reviews site, i actually ordered the 10 minute trainer just couple of days ago. The video from Jen, im guessing is your wife, sorry if im wrong. But she said you were doing the P90X and i been watching the infomercials for that quite a few times very curious about that as well. I just watched your recent vids and it showed your prgress from Day1-Day90, man it was looking pretty dam intense, but since there is more good real proof that this stuff is good and can actually work, im very curious and possibly thinking of giving it a shot.

Though im gunna give the 10 min trainer a shot first see how that goes, but ya i wanna lose weight and fat, become stronger and be more fit and have some tough big lean muscles. Is kinda of wat i wanna go for. im around 246lbs shooting for 200lbs at least, get the body i should have had at least 3 yrs ago. But ya man everyone needs to see the real true proof that this stuff can and will work and videos and pictures of most to the full progress would be the best way to really motivate someone haha, cool man thanks your a good inspiration, keep it real man.

    Peace

  4. 4 Michael

Gratz man! I am on day 59, so getting close to finishing my 1st round!

    Joe,

Tom said he was taking a break, pictures might come, or they might not. Regardless, why would he do one round of p90x, and then make fake blogs for a 2nd round? Take his word for it, he needs not to prove anything to you.

  5. 5 Michael

Also, the fact he put the time and effort to create and maintain this website for about 6 months should be more than enough to prove to anyone he is not a phony. His purpose for this website was to motivate people that P90X works. It’s not like he is working for Beachbody and scamming people into buying the product.

    Congrats, Tom!

I completed P90X and took a week off the week before Easter. I am in the middle of week 2, now and its going great! On my journey to reach Day 180 like yourself.

After your Hiatus, maybe you should try P90X Plus or Tony Horton One on One. A new challege and alot of people luv to hear your feedback! Maybe, just do a weekly/monthly review as oppose to the daily, not such a chore for you.

Either way, thanks for all the hard work you put into this site and providing inspiration to press play. Your definitely, were the reason why I bought P90X and can’t believe the results.

    All the Best,

    Byron

    @Michael

Lets be serious, everyone has a cam on there phone or own a digital camera. It takes longer to write the blog then upload the pics. Posting the pics will really help US who are thinking about doing 180 days or just going straight to p90x plus. And pics also show proof of work, for fitness, i would htink inspiration is 95% visual.

  8. 8 Michael

    Bobby,

You are missing the point of my reply. I know pictures work wonders for motivation, but for Joe to state “How do I know that you really did it?” is silly. I was just defending Tom for his hard work since it was being questioned.

  9. 9 Anjanette

I am on day 44 of P90X…she is a beast but I am addicted because I can see the results! I applaud you for being able to accomplish a second round. I am just looking forward to day 90..have yet to take a day off but have been thinking about it.;) However, the results keep me getting up early in the morning and “BRINGING IT!” I checked out your blog before beginning and knew if you could do two rounds that I could survive one! Your blog is motivational inspiration..THANKS!

  10. 10 Jerri

Just finished watching all your videos….GREAT STUFF! I laughed my butt off….well, no, it’s still there, unfortunately, ha ha ha. Anyway, just gotta say kudos to you and your wife for doing this and keeping up with blogging and the videos….AWESOME motivators! Not sure where you all are from, but I’m guessing up north since there are definitely no salmon around these parts, LOL! Funny thing, our families are much alike. My husband is a logistics tech for Wal-Mart (aka Diesel Mechanic). I’m trying to convince him to do P90X with me….after he sees your video footage I think he’ll be hooked just because you 2 are so much alike. He’s not overweight or out of shape, but exercise is definitely NOT in his vocabulary, much less daily regimen. We like to camp, fish….also have a cabin we frequent at least once/year, too. ;0) I can see from the background (your kitchen) that your wife and I have a lot of the same priorities….I garden, can/freeze fresh as much as possible, and many of the foods are the same. One thing I loved was how you showed us the normalcy that can come and the affordability of it all. Deepest grats for that, dude. We are a few years older than you all (nearing 32 for both of us) and have 3 kiddos (all girls…one a teen…eeks!). Anyhow….just thanks! thanks! thanks! for this blog….I’ll be reading more on it soon and hope that you get a chance to post some more updates! Thanks again!

    Tom
Can you buy the recovery drink/supplements from GNC? not the P90X stuff but a reasonable facsimile
    Cheers Ray

  12. 12 ratch333

    Tom & others,

I notice that the pics dropped after 90 days as well. I believe this is so because its the actual “completion’ of the program. I hope you are doing well and maintaining. I think your video does the infomerical WAY more credibility. Job well done man!!!!

Do you think that PX90 could work for someone with bad knees? I notice that a lot of jumping and squatting is done. I have had surgery on on both my knees and looking for a program to stay in shape w/o messing my knees up any more than they are. Squats/lunges hurt like h*ll…

Anyone in the PX90 program do their exercises in an apartment without disturbing the neighbors?

  13. 13 ratch333

    Tom or others,
What did you use for pullups in your home???

  14. 14 Anjanette

Door Gym has worked wonders for me for pullups!

  15. 15 ratch333

Door gym? never heard of…Not afraid of damaging the door or holding your weight? Are you doing P90x? Does it require you have a pull up bar?

  16. 16 Anjanette

Door Gym is a pull up bar that hooks over any regular sized bedroom/bathroom door that holds up to 300 lbs. Yes, I am doing P90X…day 50!

  17. 17 ratch333

Are you posting your before and after pics? where can we see? any big differences?

  18. 18 ratch333

    what brand of door gym?

  19. 19 Anjanette

Iron Gym Extreme…got it at Dicks Sporting Goods. I have not posted any pics…

  20. 20 Yo

yo… where the fuck the pics be man?!!

  21. 21 Larry

When is INSANITY coming out? That looks like an AWESOME workout by BeachBody.

  22. 22 Dan

    Tom,
Hope you are being paid by p90x. Was considering buying the program, and after reading your blog and watching video, I will definitely purchase. Cant wait to get started, hopefully i have the guts to finish like you. Very entertaining site. In addition to motivation, you and your friends look you would be great to party with.

  23. 23 Useful Heath Tips

i never know this ..how ever i wanted to know this from long..great

  24. 24 cameron

His pics are on the video on the side and it takes you to his YouTube page.. I am loving this P90X.. Anyone else loooking to do it I highly recommend it, also you can get it cheap at crazykylesbasement.com

  25. 25 APRIL

I HAVE BEEN TOLD ABOUT THIS PROGRAM. DO YOU CHANGE THE WORKOUT ROUTINE DAILY OR WEEKLY OR HOW EXACTLY DOES THAT WORK? ARE THERE DIFFERENT WORKOUTS FOR WOMEN TO KEEP FROM BULKING UP?

  26. 26 Anjanette

There are three versions to choose from. I lift lighter weights using the classic version..no bulk just lean, defined muscle.

3 weeks hardcore workouts switching from cardio to weight every other day for 6 days each week. Every 4th week is a recovery week with no weights or ab work. The order of the routine changes up after each recovery week.

It is difficult but I believe it is worth it…day 67 and the results are fantastic!

  27. 27 Andres

I’m just reading your posts and I can’t wait to start myself. My P90X is in transit!! I can’t wait!!

  28. 28 APRIL

    ANJANETTE,

ARE THEY ALL WITHIN THE SAME SET? MY HUSBAND WANTS TO START THIS ALSO, JUST TRYING TO FIGURE OUT IF WE HAVE TO BUY DIFFERENT PROGRAMS.

  29. 29 Anjanette

    April:

They are all within the set…12 dvds. I bought mine through a warehouse distribution center for $70 however, it did not come with the workout schedule or the meal plan. I downloaded the workout schedule from another blog and I eat healthy already so I did not consider searching for the meal plan.

I had to purchase a door gym for the pullup bar but it works perfectly over my bathroom door. I already had the weights. I am an avid runner but this is about the hardest workout I have encountered outside of training for a triathalon. It works..good luck!

  30. 30 Andy

So…. I got the P90X yesterday, and I’m a bit overwelmed. I haven’t started it yet, because I want to make sure I’m doing everything right. But the Meal Plan is a little confusing… and I’m wondering if I should just stick to my healthy eating habits…

I still don’t have the resistance bands nor the pull up bar… Does anyone know if I will be needing these right away on the first few days?

I don’t have any support from friends, as they all think this won’t work… But reading all your posts and comments inspired me… So, I’m going to give it 100%!

  31. 31 Anjanette

    Andy:

You definitely need the pullup bar and/or the bands..I use both, the bands when I am exhausted but I think a man would prefer the pullup bar just because most men have stronger upper body strength than women. I do not follow the meal plan because I already eat relatively healthy.

It really works but you have to stay committed to doing it six days a week…the results are pretty immediate. Good Luck! I completed day 68 today!

  32. 32 Andy

Wow… Congratulations on completing day 68! That’s awsome.
    I’m starting everything this weekend.

I’m thinking of doing the workouts before work, but I will have to get up at 5AM! Thanks for the Good Luck wish!

  33. 33 Anjanette

Thanks Andy..I do it in the morning and am rising at 5am but feel great and energized right after and throughout the day-also helps me sleep better. The workouts are so high intensity that I can only imagine that your body would be geeked up and it would be hard to sleep if done too late in the evening. But whatever it takes to get it done, right?!

I think I am going to order INSANITY by beachbody (60 day workout)when it comes out at the end of the summer…just to switch it up and maintain what I have already built currently-I do not think I could mentally manage 180 days of P90X and APPLAUD all that do!

    Keep me posted!;)

  34. 34 Andy

I completed the first three days and I’m loving it. I’ve been in pain since I started, but good pain! Yssterday I worked Arms and Shoulders however, and my arms are not hurting me as much today. I used the bands instead of weights, and I tried to loop them and make them as heavy as possible, but I don’t think they quitet worked for me (it worked for some of the positions though). Does anyone have any suggestions on this? I’m thinking of investing on weights, but they are a bit costly…

  35. 35 Anjanette

    ANDY!

Congrats…not sure if you have a “Play-It-Again-Sports” but they sell used weights for super cheap and they are in great condition. I also found a deal at Dick’s Sporting Goods. I think you may prefer the weights as I initially began with the bands but only felt the tension in the resistance and not the full effect of a weight bearing exercise. If you are trying to bulk, I definitely recommend the weights!

  36. 36 Christine

OMG I’m starting soon I can’t waittt… this is maid in haven :)

  37. 37 Dusty

how many days is the full work out because i was under the impression that it was just 90 days? how hard is it on the knees because i have had one repaired and am going to have the other ACL replaced in a couple weeks. what if you cant do pull ups does it kind of negate this exercise plan?

  38. 38 Andy

I’m on my second week, and loving it. There’s a lot of jumpining involved, but they always show movified moves so you don’t hurt yourself. Also, I was not able make ONE pull up, but the modify move allows you to do them with the help of a chair, and that helps… and eventually you can do pull ups.
It’s an extreme workout. The hardest thing though is to follow the diet. And they say that’s like 85% of getting the results you want…

  39. 39 big lambo

just finished my 1st workout for p90x. it was pretty tough considering i pretty much had to do all modified reps. oh well I cant wait to see what happens in 89 more days! just stumpbled on this site hope everyone involved keeps working hard!!!!

  40. 40 Andy

Yeah.. this is a very cool site…. I always check to see if there’s a new reply here…. Good Luck Big Lambo! You are in for an amazing workout… I just finished week 2 today!

  41. 41 Shannon

Hi~!! Good to see fellow P90X’ers on blogs! We want to see current result pics!

Myself and my fiance are also doing P90x, but only on day 8, so we are having a great time reading this. Come check us out!

    http://our-p90x-experience.blogspot.com/

  42. 42 Anjanette

day 86…4 more days and cannot wait-sick of the dvds but love the results!

  43. 43 Jon

Hey Tom. Great job on completing two rounds of P90X. Your videos inspired me to get started with P90X. I’m on week three right now, and am already trimming down and getting stronger. Like you, I’ve started a blog, mainly to keep myself committed and accountable. You can come check in on me at http://fitwithjon.blogspot.com. Thanks, and keep pushing play.

  44. 44 Andy

So Nice to hear Anjanette!!! I started week 3…. and I know it maybe too soon to see any results….. but…. I’m starting to find lack of motivation…

  45. 45 Anjanette

    Andy:

It gets tough, I will agree…BUT STICK WITH IT!! The results will begin to appear shortly and you get a break next week which sounds like you need…YOU CAN DO IT! I will post a pic when I am done -currently on facebook as Anjanette Harris which has pics from this past weekend but you will have to let me know it is you to friend!;)

  46. 46 Weasel

    All
I’m thinking about buying the P90X Workout and I would like to know if all believe it is worth it? I cycle more then 80 miles a week and I am not losing any weight. I know I need to develop better eating habit. What is your opinion???

    Thanks

  47. 47 Andy

Thanks Anjanette, I’ll look you up on FB. It’s good to know that it’s not just tough for me alone… : )

Weasel, it’s a good program, don’t pay attention to my ‘lack of motivation’ comment… I think it happens to all of us at one point or another…. You just have to commit. And yes, the diet portion works like a charm.

  48. 48 Anjanette

Definitely do it Weasel…I am on day 88 and get comments on how great I look ALL THE TIME now. I am an avid runner and was at a standstill after 8 years of doing the same thing. You will see results rather quickly so…DO IT! Have a sensational day!

  49. 49 Weasel

Thanks Andy. I’ll give it some thought. I tried Body for Life but because of work I was having trouble getting to the gym. I enjoying cycling more then the gym so that us why I’m looking for something to keep my attention.

  50. 50 Andy

Cycling is good. I used to dow Spinning 4x a week, but it got to a point that it was like second nature to me… and I don’t think I was getting results…

This program is good. I’m doing it with the bands, instead of weights…and part of me wishes I had dumbells. I think I would get better results with dumbells…

But believe it or not, the hardest dvd in the program for me is Yoga. You sweat like a pig, by doing these very slow movements… I haven’t been able to complete the whole 1 1/2 hours of it…. Hopefully with time….

  51. 51 Scott Veltkamp

Great P90x Blog. Congrats on some great results! I finished the 90 days, took about a week off, and started right back up haha. It changed my workout forever. Check out http://p90-x.com for some more resources.

  52. 52 Westie

I am on day 5. Due to my schedule, I work out in the evenings.. so yesterday I did Arms & Shoulders / Ab Ripper X. I thought the Arms-Shoulders was the easiest one yet. It may be because I started curling with dumbells months ago, before I started P90X.
I was insainely sore after Day 1 and Day 2 (Plyometrics) wasn’t hard to do… except I had to take plenty of breaks to get my breathing in check. I’m no cardio buff.
I’m doing the yoga tonight when I get home from work. Like Tom, I’m not very flexible. We shall see!

  53. 53 Mir

I have a torn meniscus in my left knee. The doctor told me I shouldn’t run and cant do “high impact” cardio. I go tot he gym. I lift and do the elliptical. I am thinking about trying PX90, but am worried that I wont be able to do much of the workouts with a bad knee. Any advice? Is it worth it for me to get it?

  54. 54 Lisa

Hello….I am wanting to purchase this, but am curious do you need to buy the pull up bar? Is it a necessity? I really appreciate your website! You can totally see the difference in your pictures during the first 5 weeks! POST SOME MORE! (smile) Thanks!

  55. 55 cody

I’m going to be starting p90x soon i really wanna chance the way i look so i wont be scared to take my shirt of at the lake please help me keep going over the 90 days
