Jen: First things first…..to Carl…..yes you can have coffee on this diet. Try to stick to non-fat, non-dairy creamer or just plain skim milk instead of half and half. And use something like sweet and low or splenda instead of sugar. I know how important coffee is to people, so by all means…..this was a very important thing to cover! Today was a slow day for me, thank God. I am STILL sore from Saturday doing legs and back. I pretty much spent the day doing some simple things around the house, took the dog for a walk, and did some computer work. Not a big exciting day. Cheated a little bit on the diet today and had leftover chili instead of a grilled chicken burrito. If you tasted my chili you would do the same YUM! For my AM snack I had a protein bar. When I first started eating these things I thought they tasted less than desirable, but now I actually enjoy them. I don’t know if it’s because my body is begging for all the vitamins and nutrients in them or what, but I do know that simple little snacks DO NOT satisfy me anymore. My PM snack was humus and carrot sticks. I buy the cracked chili humus (or something like that). I have never tried humus before starting this program and I must say I find it very good! My kids even like it! Dinner tonight was not off the nutrition guide but I feel it was just as nutritious. We had homemade chicken noodle soup (made with low sodium fat free chicken broth, mixed veggies, boneless skinless chicken breast, and whole wheat noodles), a side salad, and some whole wheat rolls. Very scrumptious, especially since the crap weather seems to be sticking around. Now on to tonight’s workout. I have to say I was not looking forward to this one. It was plyometrics, and I know I covered exactly how I felt about this one last week. It is by far the most horrible thing ever. I know I’m supposed to be telling you how wonderful everything is like some other workout enthusiasts, but I’m keeping it real. This sucks! I came close to throwing an all out temper tantrum complete with foot stomping. I simply did not want to do this tonight. But I pumped myself up and used my negative energy for my workout. Half way through I was at least smiling and making jokes. I still had to stop here and there. I still did modifications. But I did not stop as much as last week, and I don’t feel the huge urge to spew my chicken noodle all over. So I am proud of myself for not giving up. For this only being my second week I think I’m doing alright. They say after 2 weeks the soreness and all around crappy feeling goes away. I think I will be happy when that day gets here. Until then I will keep giving it my all and just remeber to push forward even if I do stommp my foot every now and then. See you all tomorrow!
Tom: I drink my coffie black since I have started P90X!!!!! no more creamer and sugar for me. My breakfast was a whole wheat bagel bread with peanut butter (natural) and a glass of milk. A.M snack was the P90X protein bar. My morning at work was better than yestardays, my snack really kicks it up a notch once it has settled. Gets me throught till lunch knowing that I ate something healthy and not cokkies or junk food. For lunch I had a turkey burger on whole wheat toast and 2 glasses of water. My afternoon was a few pre delivery inspections, also I had three used cars I brought in to look over so this afternoon was productive. alot better than monday thats for sure. Dinner tonight was homemade chicken noddle soup, my wifes makes it real tasty!!!! It was a great soup and dinner. I had with it a salad with fat free italian dressing and a roll with butter. My workout tonight was tough. Very brutal I guess I have not completely recovered from this weekend During the lunges and jumps my legs were buring up. I did pick it up after a few minutes though. Then I slowed down for the spin jumps they make me a little dizzeeee since on a few of them I’m jumping the full 360***** It takes alot out of you with the consistance of these excercises. Keeping your heart rate up is whats going to make you want to push for a lillte bit more eac time. My football leaps tonight was me covering the entire living room, my creak jumps to were nice and long jumps. I doubled up on the knee jumps again just jumping over and over again as fast as I could do them. I went through pretty much all my water out of my workout jug. Yea its a cool jug too, just enough for these intense workouts since I don’t hit the pause button. No time for that I do my best in the time allowed to me. I don’t have time to give up, I’m here for this 90 day workout. My health has improved, and my eating habits are very good now. I enjoy working out with my wife it’s real nice to have someone else there for some company and motivation. Thanks !!!!!!

I did the core synergystics yesterday – was a fairly “easy” workout. I thought that by now I would be in good enough shape to be past the soreness – WRONG!!! Crawled out of bed this morning and was hurting all over. Did Kenpo to wake me up and feel a lot less pain now. I don’t think that week 4 qualifies as rest week. I think, they were just kidding us.
Either way, lets keep bringing it!
hahaha yeah, it’s not quite rest! But it’s not so much heavy lifting and resistance either which was a nice break. It’s funny how working out again can get out all that soreness from the day before.
be sure to check out my week 5 video coming out by the end of this week. We’re out in the woods doing Kenpo. Now that’s dedication! Later on Christine! -Tom
Jen:
I have not done anything but walking and pilates in the last 3 years. I am a pretty healthy eater, but I need to lose 20lbs, (I have 4 kids ages 3,5,7 & 9 and I homeschool them, so not much me time to work out).
It seems to me that the 10 minute trainer would be a good place to start. I can manage 10 to 20 minutes a day without getting up at 6. I looked into the power 90 (version A). It seems to be pretty awesome, but not as intense as P90X. Do you have any suggestions on which one sounds better for me to start with? I want great results, but I do not want to bite off more than I can chew.
I know you are busy yourself and may not have time to dish out advice.
Best wishes
Hi Guys,
I just started the Lean P90X program. I am now on my 13th day. So far, I say Yoga X is the one that I have the most struggle with. I’m not saying that I can do every exercise in every videos up to now. I mean that I just don’t have the drive and patience to do Yoga X. I guess I don’t have the right mentality for Yoga.
Other than P90X I also do Tai Chi Chuan 5 days a week. I spend more than 3 hours doing Tai Chi, then I go home and do my P90X video. I notice that P90X is improving my mobility significantly which in turn improved my Tai Chi forms. P90X is great, even though I completely whipped afterwards.
Well, tonight will be Kenpo X. I will try to bring it and maybe I have improved some since I did Kenpo X last.
Hey Donna, yeah it takes a lot of concentration and balance to get into the moves and to hold them. Thats the important part that it plays in the program I think. It makes you stay focused on what you do and then you take that idea and strength with you to the other workouts. Good luck with Kenpo tonight!
Tommy,
The video came out great. All except for my fat ass. I need the P90X… Salmon were scarce but the workout were fierce..P90X is where it’s at.
Hi Aimee, I’ve only done 10 Minute Trainer and P90X. But I will say that if you are looking to just get started 10 Minute Trainer is a really great program. I think the thing that you will like the best about it is that you only need to do it 10 minutes a day as a minimum.
But don’t be fooled it is a tough 10 minutes
Once you get into it and get used to the workout you can up it to 2 workouts (20 min a day) or 3 workouts (30 min a day). It’s a really flexible program and I I think you’ll like it. You can check out my old blog (my friends sister has taken over where I left off) here:

and if you want more info on the program you can check that out here:

Hello, We are on day 7 of the Classic Program of P90x+. It has been a tough week and very time consuming to prepare food and trying to get the food portions right. Yesterday, we did substitute our fruit serving with some red wine. It that cheating?
Besides that, everything has been very well balanced and our bodies are regulating to all of the food we eat (we are eating alot) and we can feel our bodies burning the calories taken in. It’s a great feeling minus the sore muscles.
Is there anyone out there doing the Classic P90x+?
Yo Tom, which preworkout supplement do you take to get all pumped up for P90X?
What do you think of BSN No-Xplod?
Thanks
