Jen: Just me today guys. My hubby has left to go on the yearly butt scratching, beer drinking, tent sleeping fishing trip. Who knows, they might even catch some fish while they’re there. It’s a good time for him to go and relax and reward himself and the end of the nice weather. The only problem……..the kids and I miss him like crazy. Our daughter cried when he left tonight. Absolutely heartbreaking. Believe it or not, this yearly excursion is the longest my husband and I are separated during the year (3 whole days). I know some of you may think that is nuts, but it is what we have come accustomed to after 6 years together. We are truly each others best friends. Alright, enough with the girly stuff (I know the guys that read this are probably ready to barf). So all that being said, I was on my own for Yoga X tonight. As I have mentioned before, I have done some of these routines with Tommy on a leisurely basis. This is one of the routines I sampled before I officially started. I really enjoy doing yoga. I am one of those junkies that loved it from the minute someone turned me on to it. But this yoga is a little different. I have never in my life done an hour and a half of yoga! I find a lot of the poses difficult. It is a true test of balance and flexibility. The ones I had particular trouble with were the twisting right angle poses, warrior 3, and some other twisty thing that I cannot recall. They all really but my legs on fire. I had to bend my legs every so often or scooch in a little because it hurt too much. After the workout was over my legs felt like jell-o. It was a lot harder to find the motivation to finish the workout without my buddy there doing it with me. So for those of you considering teaming up with someone, I suggest you do it. It makes it so much easier to have someone there cheering you on or to make you laugh when you just want to scream “OOOOWWWWWWW”. So that I look like some drunk flamingo when I walk…..I am going to go shower and call it a night. I know you may think it’s only stretching, but trust me it is so much more than that. Stretching doesn’t make you sweat as much as this! So, grab a partner and get going with the P90X workout program!

Jen:
Glad to hear that you decided to join the club! These are really great workouts. I also took one week at the time and just finished week three. I noticed Friday that my stamina was finally picking up, and I could really bring it. Today with Kenpo, it was the same thing. I still take extra breaks, but that’s ok, at least I can hang with the whole thing. Finally, most of the soreness is gone, amazing how long it takes to get all the kinks worked out, and I had been hitting the gym prior to this three times a week for several months. I am looking forward to the changed routine next week. 3 weeks done, 10 to go!
Good luck to you and hang in there.
