I just finished my first day of p90x and it was hard. I thought that i was in pretty good shape. I actually vomit, but i got myself together and finished the workout.I started off with 10 lbs of weight but i fill i could have worked out with 15 lbs. I did about 10 reps of everything except the pull-ups, i could only do four reps of pull-ups. And the ab ripper i just did what i could. is this normal?

Thanks for this site. I think it will help me stay motivated. I'm starting day 1 today. Getting off work and hitting chest and back. I can't even do one chin up and I do all my pushups Gorky position. Any suggestions to keep me motivated? Also, I'm a vegan so I'm trying to figure out how to work with the nutritional guide. Any suggestions there? Thanks again!

HI Tom,

I started P90X 2 days ago and man.... I am beat to a pulp. My wife and I both are following the Classic workout and I tell you, we are in way worse shape than we thought.

The first day wasn't so bad, I had to go down a little on the reps I set myself up for but it was OK, it was our first day. ABX killed me though. I thought we were done, and then ABX started... we were already tired and my form just went down. We finished the set (and my wife did better than I did with the abs) and I went to go take a shower. Now I know what you meant when you said you couldn't reach your head! Man, my arms were tired, it was a labor to just wash my hair. The recovery was nice, no major pain, just the soreness of worked out muscles.
Plyometrics on the other hand! Sh... Again, it was ok for the first 20 minutes or so, then it started to burn, and burn and burn! My legs just turned into rubber and I could not lift off. I had to finish the hour doing all modified routines. Even then I struggled. How wrong I was to think I was in good shape. My wife did very well. She finished the set with me and looked a lot more composed than I did. I was puffing and coughing and cursing! Ha, it was funny!

I am looking forward to the next 88 days! I will post on and off. Thanks for the space.

Hey Tom,Great work on your site. I plan on using it for at least the next 90 days. I am in good shape right now but I am looking to totally confuse my muscles and this is a great way to torture them. Well I thought I was in much better shape than I am because the ABX killed me. My boys always said it is all for show. Wow. Anyone else have trouble? This kicked my ass to the point that I was nauseas. Look forward to day 2. Jared from Boston

hey Tom,
I cannot even begin to tell you how much I enjoy this site! It is what inspired me to get the program. I start tomorrow! I see you have mentioned your love of coffee in the AM...same here. Would it be a fair trade 2-4 tablespoons of fat free half n half for one serving of dairy say 3oz of cheese?... I really really need creamer...LOL this is a tough one for me..
Thanks for any advice on this...although I fear I may just have to learn to love my coffee black...
