P90X Review Day 67: Reflections on comments from last post

P90X Day 67 - photo
Thanks for all the feedback from my last post. I have been bringing but I decided to leave that post so it would get attention. Part of me feels guilty for running into problems. It is hard to confront the fact that despite my commitment I took the nutrition for granted. However, I hope that this serves as a lesson for people about to start the P90X that it isnt a cake walk, and that you need to be serious about it. Also, that the more work you put in, the more you will get out of it. That may be obvious, but I hope people about to start the P90X can learn from my experience.

The truth is that the P90X has helped me achieve such great results already. For me, I should be proud of the fact that I have even come this far. I have never once in my life stuck with a fitness program or routine for more then a week. I haven’t even come close before in actualizing the potential I have to be fit and healthy. So far the P90X has transformed my life. I feel utterly confident in my body now, which I never truly felt before. Also, it has taught me that real change is possible. I have seen results and I know that I can continue to see more results. That lesson alone has been worth this program. Not only does that lesson apply to physical fitness but in every other life endeavor. It has shown me that true change comes from working hard and not wishing hard. So lets bring it in this last stretch.

If you want to learn more about the P90X workout or want to start bringing it like me see the link below:

No way dude…day 29 picture is definitely not as good as day 67…look again …I can see more of your abdominal outline in day 67….keep going…..I started P90X on Oct 1st and love it…I think I need to eat a bit more as I am down 5 pounds but did not really need to lose weight as I am 5 ft 11 and was 166 now I am 161 but 2% lower body fat….did you lose weight in the first 30 days.

Hey Brian, quick question. I’m starting the P90X program next week and before I ran across your site I actually had the same idea, to build a site and post daily pictures and stats all the way through. Mostly to help me stay motivated as I know that’s going to be my 2nd biggest hurdle (after the diet of course). Did you build this site from scratch or is there a template or something? I’m wondering if I need to all out build my own or if there is a quick setup to get he same type of site you have. Thanks, and great job keeping with it!

  3. 3 Rajeev

Brian i have been reading ure blog basically since day 1, and like u cannot expect like drastic results without a drastic effort to get those results. Your commitment toward the program (nutrition and training) is directly related to the results you see, jus bring it these last few weeks and im sure ull be happy with the results.

    Brian,
I’m getting ready to start. I turn 48 on Oct 30th. I dont want to turn into a feeble man. Thanks to you for setting up this website. Its motivating. Please acknowledge the email just this once so I know your listening.
Keep up the good work. I can see the difference.

Hey Brian. I finished phase 1 of the p90x system about 2 weeks ago. I feel that I didn’t push phase 1 really hard, I cheated dieting a lot and sometimes was forced to skip work outs. I’ve decided since I’ve not done the program in 2 weeks now b/c of school, I’m going to start over again, and not cheat, etc… I’m gonna start wakin up at like 8 everyday and getting it done. I’ve even seen the nutritionist here at our school to help me keep up with the nutritional aspect. I will not be following the p90x food guide, I believe there are many other ways to eat healthy. The p90x program is great, it has some of the hardest workouts I’ve ever seen. I believe you get out of it what you put in. I can definitely see more toneness in you, especially in your ab area, which is what the ladies like anyway right? lol. I also see much more definition in your arms and chest. Stick with it man! You’re doing great! Also, I may do the doubles p90x routine. I assume you did the classic this time. Are you going to follow up and do the doubles next?

I would really like to start my own website as you did with pics, etc… It has definitely motivated me to want to start my own page. I was wondering the same thing as gman about how u got this page up and what not. And lastly, I’ve heard you talk about you bein in a dorm and stuff. I was curious what college you were at and if you’re anywhere near my area. I assume you have my e-mail since I have to put it in to post, you can contact me there if you don’t wish to post it publicly.

My husband and i just started P90X today Oct 29. About kicked my butt I am determined to make it to the end! i hope you are too. You are almost there!

I bought this off of ebay but it didn’t come with the plan.. How do the movies work? Do you just pick one and do it or is there a strict plan on what to do? I am so excited about this, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Tracy, I am actually starting the program today, Oct. 29, as well. As I stated, I already completed phase 1 once but I didn’t follow it the way I should have and I ate terribly, etc… But I’m determined this time. We should keep in check with eachother for a little extra motivation!

  11. 11 Kenny

    Brian
Dude, great web site and way to go with your progress. I have been thinking about this program for 2 months now. After seeing your results I am ordering it. Keep up the effort!

  12. 12 Rachel

Do you use the nutrition plan as well? What do you think about it and do you think it makes a difference in your results?

  13. 13 Jeff

Hey Brian – just found this site today after doing a little research on the p90x. I think it’s a great service to everyone else to have a “real” person doing this – who skips days, goes to college etc and still attempts to do the program.

Couple questions for ya – being a college student I’m curious as to how much alcohol you drink. I know that is one of my big drawbacks (that and a generally poor diet). I am in fairly decent shape except taht being married for about 5 years (and now being single for two) put a bit of a spare tire around my middle. I want the muscle showing through again so am probably going to start the p90x just as a regimented workout (especially with winter in Colorado coming, it can be harder to get to the gym).

Also -I see you were 190 w/ 17.5% bodyfat at the beginning. You measured your waist & hips. I see s definite improvement in your abdominal region. I am wondering if you measured your “stomach” or the biggest area at the beginning. I will be doing that – just wondering how much of a difference you are seeing in your numbers from when you started. I’ll bet it’s drastic.

Keep up the good work – you are an inspiration to a lot of people. I like your reviews honesty (today I rocked, or I sucked) – I think people can relate to it. I think the key with this program is to go through it once to really get your body into shape – then depending on if you want to add mass/size or get leaner you can adjust your workouts accordingly.

    Continued good luck,
    Jeff

  14. 14 Tracy

OMGOODNESS!! Finished day 2 and i am one hurtin girl! It hurts to sit, it hurts to walk, it hurts to do most everything. I thought I was in pretty good shape. I mean i run 5 to 8 miles about 5 or 6times a week. Plus i have been doing Turbo Jam (another beachbody workouk). P90X will rock your world I tell ya! I am lovin though. I can not wait to see some results I sure am feeling it!

Josh, good luck to you! Lets keep eachother going!

    T~~~~

  15. 15 Nightspear

Your results are quite amazing!! From your day one photo you can definitely see a change. Keep up the great work.

I am seriously thinking about getting the p90x program. I have always been on the thin/scrawny side (5′10″ @ 120#-130#). I am at the heaviest I have ever weighted and quite proud to actually break the 150# mark. However I can eat as much if not more than my friends that have 30 or more pounds on me.

My questions are about the diet side of the program. Are you doing the diet? If so, does it leave you feeling hungry through out most of the day or even as if you just have not eaten enough?

  16. 16 arnall

I officially started this past Sunday and so I am currently on my third day. I am very sore in my legs. Plyometrics makes me extremely sore in my thighs. I hobble around. However I did do some pre training using the P90X irregularly to prepare for my start date of Oct. 28 and was glad I did as it familiarized me a little to the program. I have prepared by getting the equipment I needed and have tried to keep reading about it on your site and the like to get me mentally ready. I got some new work out shoes and use a big mat which I find helps. I don’t normally wear shoes in the house so when I put my shoes on, I feel like I am going somewhere and about to do something. Simple I know but it helps me to prepare when I work out. On the days that I do abs, I do them in the evening as I feel it’s too exhausting to do it right after my workout. I am trying to take a nutrition/ protien shake after each work out and eat a good amount of protien. I am a lacto ovo vegetarian and reasonbly healthy in my diet but I still eat an ice cream or the like when I am out with my wife on a date and that sort of thing. But when I am home, I try to be pretty good and believe that the diet is critical to a good response. My weakness is that I am not spreading my meals out very well. In other words, this morning, I had a little egg and a pancake that my wife had made. I then didn’t eat again until this afternoon and it was a good size meal. Then I worked out and drank a nutrition shake while and after the work out. I did have a little bit of a protien bar this morning while I was out. I am a pastor and so my schedule is very eratic and unpredictable. I would like to try and be more faithful with my diet regimen and intend to focus more on it. But as long as I am faithful at home with it, I feel I can eat at dinner appointments and such. But it’s easy to talk yourself out of eating like you should and so I am determined to try and be better about this and keep the resources my body need in me throughout the day better. Just sharing here to help remind myself and hopefully inspire others.
Well, this is my experience thus far. If anyone wants to stay in touch, let me know. I am hopeful to be celebrating in early January as by then I should have my first 90 days out of the way! Best to all of you!
    jeremy

  17. 17 Josh

Yea, I just finished my 2nd day (Plyometrics). I’m really trying to push it this time and o man am I hurtin. I’m so sore from yesterday’s pushups and pull-ups. I actually got some of the push-up bars and they do make a difference in your push-ups with the extra range of motion. I tried pumpin out the plyo today. I was pausing the tape after about every set, haha. I really hate those rockstar jumps.

Tracy, I’m glad to hear you guys are continuing on the plan! I’ll be checkin up on you guys!

  18. 18 Brenda

    Hello Brian!
Are you thinking about maybe adding some weekly stats like weight, body fat, and measurements so we can appreciate the transformation even better?

  19. 19 Tracy

OK today was shoulders and arms then Ab RipperX. I did ok with the shoulders and arms. I loved it. Then came the Ab Killer (I mean ripper) Uummmmm lets just say it was not happening. I tried to do everything but my abs are so sore I could barely lift my feet off the floor. I did what i could and kept in mind that I WILL improve!! I am determined too!!
Dont want to high jack your blog on comments Brian. Where the heck are ya?? Waiting for an update!

josh thats ok your were pushing pause at least you stuck through it! You will get better at it!!! Keep on Bringing it!!!

UH OH… I think Bryan might have quit. He has not posted in 4 days. I hope not.

I’m doing day 3 tonight. I took a before picture but I’m too embarassed to show it. I will show it toward the end if I make some real progress.
I may even get a website going as well.

I have a domain already, if someone wants to hang a progress website off my domain I will let them. I can build a quick website for you if you want to post on it and show your progress, it would be no big deal.

    Just let me know.

    I’m at michaelagee@hotmail.com

    Mickey

  21. 21 Jeff

Well I hope Brian hasn’t quit but that life has just gotten in the way of posting for a while. Halloween can be a busy time at a college campus :) I like his progress reports because I imagine it will mimic mine – my diet sucks, and I do like my ales & wines. I don’t imagine that I will be totally shredded in 90 days, but that I will be in much better shape after the winter. I am maybe 5-10 pounds overweight (5 ft 11 185) but it is all around my stomach. This will give me something to do during winter (once I get the package) and help me look that much better when it is shirtless weather again.

Hopefully everyone will follow Brian’s lead and post their results someplace – so we can all cheer each other on.

    Jeff

  22. 22 ShesHard

    Hey Brian,
We’re all wondering what’s up with you. If you didn’t finish, it’s ok! You made most of the way and that’s quite an accomplishment. If you’re still going, then cheers to you for that also.

  23. 23 gman

Uh-oh, where’s Brian??? For all those that might be interested I’m starting the P90X program on Monday (Nov 5). I’m going to be building a site similar to this, daily updates, pics, etc. I’m also going to be tracking my weight and body fat on a daily basis and posting that as well. I’m going to build my site with the capability to create multiple users (ie not just myself but anyone can create a profile to track their own results). I know I won’t have the site fully finished by the time I start the program but if there is interest (I know it will help me with my motivation) I’ll allow others to create their own profile on the site. People viewing the site will be able to select the user they want to follow and view their progress, etc. Like this site but multiple program users.

  24. 24 jenna

BRIAN… THIS IS NO WAY TO GET ATTENTION! Get back here! You can’t do this to us! What’s gone on? Did Plyo kill you? I HATE PLYO.
    Hope you are well,
    Jenna

  25. 25 Tracy

I dont know if Plyo killed him but the yoga almost killed me!!! I have a new respect for the work out called YOGA. I had no idea what a challenge that was going to be! I thought that was going to be an easy day for me!! I am still going and I can see a difference in my body in just under a week! AMAZING!!!

gman I am interested in your site. Can’t wait til it is up and running. Be sure to give a link here when it is ready.

    BRIAN where are you?????

    Tracy

  26. 26 AprilnParis

What kind of equipment is required for this program?

    Thanks for the response!

  27. 27 Scott

First, I just wanted to say thanks Brian for the reviews and updates, it is nice to see the daily progress and results of a real person. I hope that you are still continuing with the program and will update us all when you get the chance! Websites like this – and GMAN, I hope you get yours up – are a definite modivator.

My wife and I are looking at starting this program asap. I will be ording off E-bay today. I am 36 and she is 33 and as anyone that is married knows, sometimes the kids and life get in the way of staying in shape. We have been married now for over 7 years now and during that time I have gone from 160lbs with very little body fat (I’m 5″11) to about 205lbs and a nice spare tire :) We both plan on going full out with the program and diet, the only problem I have is I like my beer on the weekends…do you – or anyone else – think this will hurt much? I figure that anything I am doing above what I do now must be better!

Does anyone know of other sites like this one – other than GMAN’s – that I can visit as well? The more the merrier. GMAN, can you post your site here when you get it up?

Thanks, apologies for the winded post, just excited to be getting started.

    Scott

  28. 28 Mickey

My P90 X Website is up. I must warn you, my pictures are really gross to look at. I’m really out of shape. I hope this works. You can click on this link to monitor my progress.

Hey man, perhaps you have nothing to guage your progress with besides the pictures.. I am in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and I’ve only been doing P90X for about 17 days. I already notice how much better I am thanks to the program. Do you play Bball? Do you do any active sports? I’ll go back and read your blogs to see but perhaps this will get you inspired. Congrats on the progress.. I can’t wait till i’m on day 60ish myself ;)

  30. 30 gman

AprilInParis…. according to the material in the program all you should need is the DVD’s, a pull-up bar, and maybe some dumbells. If can’t get a pull-up bar or dumbells, or if you want to start off easier, they say you can use bands for the resistance. They also say that a couple of push-up bars, a couple of yoga blocks, and a yoga matt might be helpful. I got a good deal on e-bay. I got the DVD set and the P90X pull-up bar for about the same price as others sell the program by itself (about $150). I went to a local five-dollar store and got a yoga block for about $3. I have a dumbell set so I’ll use those as my push-up blocks.

  31. 31 gman

Sorry, they also say a heart-rate monitor is helpful for keeping yourself in the proper workout zone. Again, I got a great deal on a used one from e-bay.

  32. 32 Josh

Hey AprillnParis, when doing this program, I find it necessary to have the pull up bar. At least 2 of the workouts depend highly on pull-ups and if you can’t do one, you use a chair or improvise with bands. Even with the bands, you need something to wrap them around that is above you, and why not the pull-up bar and work up to doing actual pull-ups? I used bands for a while on the workouts, and found that they did nothing for me, so I had to find dumbbells. I found some at wal-mart that are like a bar except dumbbell sized and you can actully add the weight to the bar. I had to decide which weights I wanted, it doesn’t come as a set or anything. But most people pay arond 400-500 for a weight set, I paid about $80 or so. Heart rate monitor is useful but I don’t think it’s necessary. However, it does let you know if you’re working hard enough or too hard. I still don’t have a yoga mat or yoga blocks and I’ve managed just fine, although the further I get into the program, the more helpful they seem like they would be.

I am a new poster and I just spent the last 2 hours reading every post from day one. I ordered the P90x a couple of days ago and found this blog while seeking research. It truly is amazing how the number of individuals posting to this blog grew over the period of the two months since day 1. Also striking is the sincere encouragement shown by the posters towards Brian who was a complete stranger to many, but who began something here which I personally have not seen before in regards to a detailed diary of a routine, the likes of which regularly bring down probably ninety-five percent of those who try such a thing, expecially the first time.

Brian, I only began reading this blog two hours ago, and it appears that maybe a snag was encountered, maybe not; but it is not too late to step back in whether you completely fell off the schedule or due to some other unknown reason have been unable to post. Your blog has been and is an inspiration to many people who would love to see and hear your return. A week off is easily remedied. Just get back on schedule. As one above mentioned, many people are truly inspired by your effort and returning to the scene would provide a fantastic boost to many here I am sure. You are going to be all over the Internet as more and more people begin to catch wind of this product and seek information about it. Leave a good legacy! You want to complete this thing, believe me. I cannot remember reading one poster who had actually finished the entire go at this, but maybe there was. Either way, if not, then you truly would and still can be an inspiration by digging back in. I hope there are more posts from you and you find it within yourself to finish and share the rest of this story. It is not too late by any means. Do it! You will be amazed at the warm reception.

  34. 34 Diamond

You’re 2/3 the way through the program, I don’t see much of a difference relative to what they are “selling” versus what you’re able to achive.

Are you happy with your results thus far?

  35. 35 Arsen

Yeah, dude you havent posted for almost a month! What the hell happened to ya? And not to sound mean or anything, but I don’t see much of a difference from Day 1 and Day 67

  36. 36 Jeff

Hi all – Brian – hope everything is going okay for ya bro. I ordered my P90X off ebay (got the deal with the bar, bands and everything, so I can take bands on the road with me when I have to travel).

I found a kickass forum site similar to this with all kinds of info at
    http://forums.milliondollarbody.com/eve/forums/a/frm/f/5082996357

My stuff shipped today – so I will be going and starting a thread over there once I get it – any other newbies want to join in we can keep each other motivated, be sympathetic or all just laugh at my pics & progress reports :)

Maybe Brian is just waiting to unveil some new “spartan” type pics on our unsuspecting eyes?

    Jeff in Colorado

  37. 37 Nick D.

Hey everyone, I don’t know where Brian went. Hope everything is ok.

Just to let everyone know, I’ve also been keeping a blog of my P90X journey.

I have weekly pics, pdf downloads of P90X workout sheets, excel spreadsheets of the workouts, and spreadsheet of my workout weights/reps.

    http://nick90x.blogspot.com

  38. 38 Ryan

Hey man I just orderd p90x myself. I cant wait to get into it. What all came inside the box? are you using the bands or dumbells? you cant email me/

    -Ry.

  39. 39 Adam

Anyone one who comes across this site should have this disclaimer:

Results vary and results also depend on eating habits.

I initially saw this site and didn’t want to get P90X, because its a horrible exhibition of what the results would be. BELIEVE ME IT REALLY WORKS IF YOU REALLY PUSH YOURSELF IN THE WORKOUTS AND EATING HABITS. I am on day 34 and I am in better shape than I have ever been in my life, for the first time I have a 6 pack, and my man boobs have become muscle like I was 19 again.

  40. 40 Dennis Hardy

    Hey Brian,

I had been following your blog and just wanted to check in and see how you were doing.

Don’t give up brother…keep pushing through those last 30 days!

    Best Wishes,

    Dennis Hardy

  41. 41 James

Where did you get the price of the chin up bar at $44 on the P90X site. Its $49.95 on their site

  42. 42 Rajeev

Brian where have u been man? i hope u stuck wit it, because according to my calcs today is DAY 90 for you! i hope all is well and ur happy wit ur results, keep pushing play man

  43. 43 Jeff

Yeah Brian – I’m on Day 5 – wanted to see if you continued on your journey – if you are gonna rest up and go for it again.

Hope all is well for you man.
    Jeff

  44. 44 jenna

Brian… Please come back! Give us an update, good or bad we support you! I am struggling going on my THIRD WEEK. So, you did GREAT! Let us know what happened! This is no way to get attention… Hard to get!

    Regards,
    Jenna

  45. 45 todd

    Hi Brian,
I was looking into getting the p90x program however, i’m not trying to bring you down, but i see no real change in your pictures after 67 days on the program. Compared to what they show on the commercial, there isn’t even a noticeable difference. Sorry, just thought I would let you know. If you are satisfied with it, more power to you. Maybe there is changes (body weight, strength) that are just not noticeable from the picture. Best of luck with the program.

  46. 46 Justin

Hey Brian, hope that you decide to come back and finish up soon. I realize it may be disheartening to hear some of these comments about your results but you shouldn’t feel too bad. You made the mistake a lot of people make with their first workout routine in that you didn’t follow any kind of nutrition plan.

I did the same thing several years ago and even after 6 months I didn’t see many results, just slightly better muscle tone. To really get the results you have to stick to a diet regime. You don’t have to starve yourself, but you have to learn how to eat clean. If I were you I’d finish up, and then start the program over again with a good diet.

    Best of luck to you.

Man, week working. Im in my day 39, doing Arms and back. I was skinny all may live until the 25 that I get a lot of fat in my belly, for work in an office and eat a lot of donuts. Any how, the first month I dont see a big change I only get to a better shape but no a big thing. This week I check my self again. A lost almost all the fat of my belly, My arms feel great and look a littler bigger not as P90x people but Im just in my 39 day. Recommendation, run some days, wet some good protein shakes and vitamins, Im not saying that IM big and string now but now I feel great and hope fully on the day 90 I will look much better that day one. People this is hard, but just because you are not just to it. Star and you will see that if you skip just a day you will feel bad with your self.

    HI everyone.
Been reading this a little bit, what a bummer that this fellow stopped posting his results.
I’ve been doing p90x at home for a little while, what I did was to do each video once, over about 2 weeks, just to make sure I was comfortable with the program.
Now I am 1 week into the 90 days… But I have toned up a bit already, thanks to what has been 3 weeks of p90x workouts and a much more dedicated diet.
I saw no point working out at 6am daily if I was drinking soda and eating snacks all day.
We’re all smart enough to know how to exercise and lift weights without a video to tell us, but dammit these videos are motivating and the p90x daily schedule and variety is something I can stick to a lot better than if I just decided to workout when I “feel like it”…
    Good luck everyone.
    Cheers
    Chris in Australia…

    Brian,
I’ve only been doing this for 2 weeks and I notice the difference. You want to get pumped and motivated? Compare your day 1 pic to your day 67 pic, there is a difference

  52. 52 Frank

    Hey Brian,

first off, congrants and keep up the hard work; there is definetely a diff from day 1 to 29 to 67. Home stretch baby, keep it up.
I have never been one to stick to any sort of work out routine (other than when I serve in the military and trust me that wan’t by choise, the work outs that is, and that was a few years back now, lol), anyways. After much reading and looking for something to get rid of the years of bad habbits in terms of eating and drinking and eventualy get me back to a decent shape (minus the beer-belly), I’m proud to say that I started P90X yesterday.
With 2 work outs now under my belt, I feel full of energy eventhough there is the obvious muscle soreness that goes with not working out after a while.
My only concerns are, am I really going to stick with it for the distance and the nutrition.
I think I’m well motivated and have 2 other friends that are going to help out with that but the diet is the one tha concerns me the most. I cannot afford to stick to the meal plan that the program dictates but my next trip to the grocery story I hope to make better choices for the thngs that i do eat. But for example, everyone says if you are going to have eggs only eat the white, well I like the whole thing…lol, is that really that bad? My other favorite that I hear… Stay off Carbs… my wife is Italian… do you really think I’m not going to see a plate of pasta in front of me sooner or later…
Anyways, i could go on and on. I guess I’m looking for some advise/support on the do’s and don’ts on the diet part of the program as well as any good advise on my first leg of this adventure.
    Cheers.

    Frank,

As far as carbs go, your body NEEDS carbs. Especially if you’re trying to get into shape and doing a vigorous exercise regime. Unless you are particularly blessed genetically you need lots of carbs to fuel workouts and have enough energy to finish.

Stick with whole grains, though, as these are used more efficiently by the body compared to processed grains like white bread and most pastas. Stick to 100% whole wheat (not just regular so called “wheat breads”) bread and if you need a pasta fix use whole wheat pasta too. Just watch your portions and limit yourself to a single serving. I also find it helpful to overcook whole grain pasta by a few minutes so the texture is more similar to regular pasta.

There is a wealth of information on the net about proper fitness nutrition. Check out the Men’s Health site to start with. Lots of great articles and recipes.

Hey Frank. I’m currently on the recovery week in phase I, and I am actually seeing tremendous differences and I believe the whole reason that I am is because I tried my best to eat healthty with the exception of a meal here and there that I would regret eating afterwards. What seems to work for me is eating every 3-4 hours so you can keep your metabolism up. And carbs are not bad for you, just make sure you’re eating the right ones. I eat lots of bananas, apples, and grapes, and I know it doesn’t sound that fun but your body will thank you. It’s amazing how different you feel once you start eating healthy because your body gets the nutrients it needs. Like I said, I’m only my fourth week into the program but I am starting to see abs, and that’s just more motivation to eat healthy! Just stick to it and your body will give you the motivation you need as your body changes.

I LOVE YOUR BLOG! You have inspired me to purchase P90X because you have had some amazing results. The fact that you are a college student like myself is so inspiring and I plan on starting the program over winter break and into next semester. Thanks for sharing your story.

  56. 56 Mike

I’m in the second week of Phase II, and have really been impressed with the results thus far. Brian’s blog was a primary impetus for me to actually buy the product. I hope he returns or starts a new 90-day blog.

A couple of posters noted the role of carbs in the diet plan. I was really impressed with my ab results during the
carb-starving section, and am concerned that my gains won’t be so great if I switch to the phase II diet.

Is my concern warranted? And if I’m making strength gains during phase II, should I still follow my phase I diet?

  57. 57 Frank

@ Justin and Josh, Thanx guys. I am trying to stick to a good diet and eating about very 3hrs (light, healthy snaks). I did gave in to the temptation of a Burger and some chips ‘n dip the other day but I am making a valiant effort. I do use the whole wheat pasta and bread and have done so for a long time now, not only for the healty choise but i do like the taste better. Thanx again and lets keep bringing it!!! Its Kempo day baby… lets rock!!

  58. 58 Justin

I make sure and eat something bad for me once every single week. Usually it’s a trip out to a nice restaurant with my girlfriend or even just a burger and fries with a good movie on a Saturday night. You have to figure that if you’re eating about 6 times a day all week then one bad meal out of 42 probably isn’t going to break your results.

For one, this way rich food becomes a reward or something to look forward to rather than guilt. Two, you’re less likely to go binge somewhere if you’re treating yourself every once in awhile. Food is a good part of life and should make us happy. If you’re really eating every 3 hours all day than that one burger and fries every week should be fine.

  59. 59 Anthony

Hey guys! I just came across this site it’s great. Sorry to hear About Brian’s absence. I’m on week 3 myself. Sometimes when I feel tired or not in the mood to work out. I’ll have a pre-workout drink for energy. When I do that I really Bring It! Man, I get a better work out than when I’m not tired and actually want to work out.

    Hi Folks,

I think it is great that you all have stumbled upon this website and found the support to keep you going thru this program. It sounds torcherous.

I am currently contemplating whether I should purchase the program, and would like to know it any of you can give me some input.

I am 47 years old, with a very bad back (torn disk) and I am not sure if I can do the twisting that is required to get all of the benefits from the program. It looks to me like the kicking and twisting are the main movements used throughout the program.

If there is anyone who has had to overcome these issues and has successfully completed this program, I would sure appreciate any feedback. You can email me @ linn@communitybroadband.com.

Thanks, and keep up the good work everyone. It’s too bad Brian has dropped out of the group, however, it seems he has created a great place for the rest of you to keep each other motivated.

Dude…you don’t look that different from your pics from day 1 to day 67. I don’t doubt you are stronger and a little leaner, but nothing like they promise on the commercial. they make it out that you will get so ripped in 90 days and I don’t see it on your pics. you started with a good body and nice def in you ab area, but your chest and arms don’t look any more ripped to me. sorry to be negative, but cant you honestly see that as well. or is it the pics don’t capture the changes as well?

  65. 65 Nick D.

Jim, Look here for some changes in 60 days.

    Brian-

I have been considering purchasing this program. I do not fall prey to the inflated promises of these type of programs and expect less in real world practice. That said and no offense intended, I just don’t see much of a change in your physique. Certainly not what I would have expected even at real world practice. This is cause for concern for me. So much so that after reviewing your results,I have asked P90X to review the as well and comment before I purchase. Brian… did you give 100% and follow ths program diligently?

  67. 67 Daniel

I couldn’t understand some parts of this article s Day by Day review of P90X, but I guess I just need to check some more resources regarding this, because it sounds interesting.

I couldn’t understand some parts of this article Review Day 67: Reflections on comments from last post at P90X Review – A Day by Day review of P90X, but I guess I just need to check some more resources regarding this, because it sounds interesting.
