I remember some people commenting that it is during week 8 that you really start to see significant results. I think that in the last few days I have really felt and noticed the difference in the photos, so that rule of thumb seems to be true. I think that I need to burn some more fat off my body to expose the muscles that I have been building. This is part of the reason why I did Plyometrics last night, because I feel it burns the most calories.
Additionally, I must say that my nutrition has not been the best during the weekends. I have let myself believe that since I am working out I can afford to eat certain things which I should not be. So this week I am going to get back on track and not indulge in desserts, and fatty snacks. Keep to the program.

Today I decide to do Plyometrics instead of Kenpo X. Plyometrics is really the ultimate of the P90X workouts. It is impressive if you can get through this one alive. I think the reason why its so hard is because you don’t set your own reps and weights, instead everyone has to bring it at the same level. Also, there is no real way to significantly modify the moves. I really felt like kicking my butt and getting a real good sweat going. You can tell just by the photos what days I do Plyometrics — my skin turns really flush red.

So today was the last resistance workout until Phase III of the P90X starts. Next week is a rest week in the P90X, which means that you take away the resistance workouts and do more Yoga, Core Synergistics, Kenpo X, etc. I have two observation. One, I need to find a way to install a pull-up bar in my dorm room. Many people have been asking if the P90X Chin Up Bar is something they should get. I say yes absolutely! — if you have a doorway that can hold it. All my doorways have no wall space next to it to allow the chin up bar to fit, otherwise I would have gotten one a long time ago. But today I discovered high on the walls in my room what appeared to have been 3 holes drilled for a chin-up bar. So I think I am going to go out and get one of the wall mount bars. Second, I need to buy some larger weights. I have 20s, but I certainly need to get bigger weights. The problem with weights is that they only get more and more expensive as the weights go up. But they will last forever. So tomorrow I am going to go to the store and upgrade in these areas.

So to continue the trend of not following the P90X perfectly in the last week, I had to cut my Yoga X workout short today because I almost (beware of unpleasant visual) threw-up through my nose. I had a spicy tomato sauce on my pasta for dinner and I think I had some acid reflux going on as I started the Yoga X. It was one of the most unpleasant sensations ever. I immediate ate some yogurt to soothe my throat and nasal area. I think I will try to add Yoga X on Sunday when I usually take my day off from the P90X.
Besides that little issue, my body feels great.

So today was the P90X crazy biceps workout day. I am surprised that it is already my third time through it. I am approaching the rest week of P90X’s Phase 2 already. The P90X program is really going by fast now. At the same time I wish I was seeing more dramatic results in my arms. It’s weird but now that I am working out and trying to get a ripped physique I have started paying more attention to other guys and their arms. I feel like mine are very puny compared to many. But, I also have to realize though that I have only been using the P90X for 45 days. I haven’t worked out at all before this. Many people have been following a workout routine on a daily basis for years. Before I didn’t even really think it was possible for me to get into great shape. But have now witnessed my body transform by using the P90X. I still am amazed when I look in the mirror.

So I know a recent theme has been me getting bored and modifying the P90X workout. Well bare with me for one more day. I know I told you I was gonna do both Plyometrics and Raquetball today. Well then I forgot that I also had my swing dance lessons tonight as well. Swing dance does make me sweat. If I did Plyo I would have killed myself. I hope Tony doesn’t come out of the TV and yell at me.
Also, I am gonna need more tactics to stay motivated. I know that playing my own music has been a big help with the P90X workouts. Any other suggestions out there on how to break through the monotony that is starting to build in the P90X. Ways to spice up the workouts? One idea I has was to rip the audio of the P90X and go to my school’s gym and workout there with the audio playing in my headphones. I think a change of location could do me good.

So today is the start of the last resistance week in P90X’s Phase 2. I am coming up real close to the halfway mark in the P90X system - yay!. Perhaps I should do a check in on day 45 with measurements etc. I know some people have been asking for that. I must say that I am pretty pleased with my results with the P90X thus far. I’ve given up on the fact that I will be ultimately chiseled, but at least I’ll be much more ripped then before. Its hard to see how my arms can ever grow substantially in size. But I guess if I keep working at it they can only get bigger and more defined, which is encouraging.
I just realized tomorrow is Plyometrics. Crap. And I also scheduled to play Racquet ball in the morning with a friend. We will see how tomorrow goes.
