How to succeed with the P90X2 Diet

The word diet is scary to a lot of people. So much that they tend to want to avoid them all together. The word diet brings up thoughts like “temporary starvation” and “hunger.” Usually a diet does not sound good to anyone. Even though the P90X2 program calls their nutrition plan a diet from time to time, it’s important to know that it is not a “traditional diet” at all. In fact, the P90X2 nutrition plan is more of a life style change, with no starvation involved!

Much of P90X and P90X2 success is due to not only it’s extreme intense workouts, but it’s also due to it’s approach on eating. The P90X2 eating plan will change your life and how you view food. There is no starving, only healthy choices. You’ll actually find yourself eating more because you’ll be burning more calories!

Making the commitment to stick to the whole program is the first step, and it’s the hardest one. You’ll have to take it just one day at a time. Don’t think about all the foods that you’ll miss for the next 90 days during the P90X2 program. Only focus on the foods you will be eating that day, taking it one day at a time. Before you know it, you won’t crave all of those unhealthy foods you used to binge on.

If you feel like you may be slipping, think about your goals. How do you want to look in your jeans after 90 days, how do you want to feel after 90 days, how much more confidence and pride will you have after 90 days? The P90X2 diet and workout system can help you achieve these goals if you just follow the program, nutritional guide and all.

Just take a deep breath and relax. The P90X2 diet is filled with healthy and delicious foods. There will be plenty of tasty choices for you to eat. You won’t be disappointed!

Can P90X2 in an Apartment work?

Yes it can! You can definitely do P90X2 in an apartment. It was made with the intention of the doing it at home. You don’t need a lot of space or bulky equipment. But you may want to consider the noise factor. There are a couple of routines where you will have to jump around for a bit. If you have neighbors living underneath you, you may want to take them into consideration when deciding on a P90X2 schedule.

The majority of the workouts in the P90X2 system can be done without making a lot of noise. All they may hear is some heavy breathing and some grunting! Most of the workouts are pretty quiet except for three of them. Plyometrics, Kenpo X and Cardio X are the ones that involve jumping and noise.

My suggestion is that you just go to your neighbors and explain to them the situation. Tell them that you are starting a new workout program and a few days of the week the program requires some jumping movements. Ask them if they are ok with this and when would it be the best time for you to do the workout so as not to bother them too much. Most people will be understanding and will appreciate that you came to them to discuss the issue before it became an issue.

But of course, there are always people who will not be so considerate to you in return. In that case you may want to try to do the P90X2 program at a friends house or even the gym. Or of course, you can just take your chances. After all, you’re paying rent too!

6 Foods that are brain healthy

Spinach
Spinach not only gives Popeye his big muscles but it also  is loaded with vitamins C and E, which helps to improve cognitive abilities.

Researchers published a study in the Journals of Gerontology that showed a 500% to 900% increase in brain and nerve tissue, in rats who were supplemented with vitamin E. They also found an increase in dopamine, which is the chemical that controls information flow to the rest of the brain.

Coffee & Tea
Believe it or not, studies have show that drinking coffee or tea can help improve your cognitive function and help ward off Alzheimer’s disease.

In the Journal of Alzheimer’s disease, researchers found that caffein had a positive effect on mice that were genetically manipulated to develop Alzheimer’s Disease. After given caffeinated coffee, these mice had either slowed progression of Alzheimer’s Disease or did not develop it at all.

Fish
Omega-3 fatty acids have shown to possibly slow cognitive decline that comes naturally with age.

Researchers, in a 2005 study, in the Journal Archives of Neurology, found that people who ate two servings of fish a week, over a six year period, had a 13% decrease in cognitive decline. Those who only had one serving of fish a week saw a 10% decrease in cognitive decline as well.

Berries
Improve your memory by adding vitamin rich berries. Blueberries and strawberries are rich in antioxidants which have shown to decrease aging of our cells and increase the signaling capabilities of our brains.

Researchers from the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, in 2010, gave a group of older adults wildberry supplements for a 12 week period. These adults had already been experiencing slight memory problems. What they found was that the adults on supplements showed better learning and recall abilities than a similar group of adults who didn’t take the supplements.

Carrots
We all know that carrots are good for our eyes, but did you know they are also good for the brain?

According to a study published in the journal Nutrition in 2010, carrots reduce age-related memory deficits and inflammation in the brain because of its high levels of luteolin.

Walnuts
Walnuts not only look like little brains but they are also good for ours. They contain high amounts of antioxidants which help to reduce damage to our brain’s cell caused by free radicals in our bodies.
